“She went from needing a crown… to losing the tooth in just one month.”😞

One of the hardest conversations in dentistry is telling a patient that a tooth can no longer be saved.

In this case, the tooth was already heavily damaged and showing signs of cracking. A crown had initially been recommended to help strengthen and protect it long-term. Unfortunately, by the time the patient returned, the crack had progressed beyond repair, and the tooth required removal.

Many cracks can worsen silently over time, especially in teeth with large fillings, heavy grinding, or existing fracture lines. By the time pain starts, the damage can sometimes become much more complex to treat.
