Did you know black teeth used to be the ultimate status symbol — for opposite reasons? 🦷✨

👑 ENGLAND, 1500s: Wealthy Rot
Sugar was a luxury import, so eating it meant you were rich. Queen Elizabeth I and her court ate so much their teeth rotted black. It became so trendy that people rubbed charcoal and soot on healthy teeth just to look wealthy. Noble women used elaborate hand fans to hide missing teeth and bad breath.

🌸 JAPAN: Ohaguro
Black teeth were also beautiful, but for a different reason. Called Ohaguro, it was a beauty and marital status symbol. They painted teeth with iron filings dissolved in vinegar + tea tannins (iron acetate).

Instead of rotting teeth, it acted like a modern dental sealant — bonding to enamel and blocking bacteria. Result: almost no cavities.

So while the English were speed-running tooth loss, Japanese women were pioneering preventative dental care and their teeth were healthier BECAUSE they painted them black. 🤯

Which fact surprises you more? 👇

✨ True Quality is Choosing Substance Over Style! ✨

Have you ever noticed how the flashiest things aren’t always the best? True value, and quality lie in what's on the inside—not a shiny exterior.

The same is true for your dental care. Some people get distracted by brand-new, fancy buildings in town, but a glossy new wall doesn't fix a toothache or look after your family. At the end of the day, patients are the ones paying for those expensive modern facades! Make wise financial and health choices, you don't need to splurge on fancy buildings. Choose substance over style.

At Amity Dental Centre, we don't focus on shiny distractions; we focus on the inside, not on the outside. Our focus is entirely on exceptional care, and our dentist is the absolute heart of this practice. With years of trusted clinical experience, deep knowledge, and honest, transparent pricing, he prioritises your health over corporate showmanship. We invest our energy into premium dental work, state-of-the-art treatment, and genuine patient relationships. 💙
We are proud to be the established, trusted, kohinoor dental practice in town—delivering elite family care without making you pay for a glamorous corporate overhead.

📞 Experience honest, top-tier dental care. Call our wonderful team today on (08) 9841 5653 or visit us at 200 Middleton Road.

🛑 Before you make that call or post that review… let’s take a collective breath.

Every reaction, decision, and judgment we make during our emotional ups and downs—or under intense pressure—is often wrong and illogical.

📉 An "emotional down" might look like the anger and frustration of not being able to secure an urgent dentist appointment to fix a broken tooth right before a long weekend.
📈 An "emotional up" might be the intense delight of reuniting with loved ones, leaving us distracted.
⚠️ "Pressure" looks like a Fifo clinic forcing you to pay a deposit and sign an implant consent form on the spot.

Correct decisions, choices, and judgments are only truly made when we are in a balanced, neutral emotional state. 🧠✨
🧠 "Think quadrice" (think four times) before making an impulsive decision, reacting harshly, or posting a review meant to harm others. Let the situation cool down first. Once the dust settles, you will almost always discover that it wasn't worth the aggressive reaction.

❤️ Please be exceptionally kind to medical and dental receptionists.Front desk teams are genuinely kind and patient with people of all ages. On any given day, they handle incredible pressure with grace:

The Accidental Callers: General callers who quickly apologise for dialing the wrong number.
The Inquisitive Seniors: Seniors who call by mistake but don't realise it right away. Instead of the receptionist just telling them they have the wrong number, the seniors thoroughly investigate the "5 Ws and 1 H" (Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How). The receptionist stays calm, answers every single query, and only after the investigation do the seniors realise the mistake and apologise.
The Frustrated Patients: People from all walks of life who take their pain or anxiety out on the desk by shouting, yet the receptionist remains calm.

Not everyone can handle this immense, invisible pressure. Many excellent receptionists end up cutting their days short or quitting entirely to protect their own mental health.

When you ring a clinic, please don't pour your emotional downs onto the person on the other end of the line. Don’t make your worst day someone else's. Remember, the receptionist doesn’t recognize you by the sound of an angry voice—they recognize you by your first and last name as a person who needs help.
🤝Be kind tomorrow. We are always here to help you—not just for your urgent dental emergencies, but also for your ongoing work, from implants to a scale and clean and everything in between.

To the individual who spent their morning harassing our front desk, leaving threats, and then posting a fake review this afternoon—we have kept your voicemails as a souvenir, and we are actively tracking down your real identity. This individual's arguments are entirely self-contradictory, and we ask our patients and the public not to listen to her false claims.
See our full, official statement below. If you can help us identify this person, please send us a private message.
👇 👇 👇
Public Notice: Incident Report – Friday, 25 September 2026
Your behaviour towards our receptionist and our business today has been entirely inappropriate. We expect all individuals interacting with our clinic to show basic respect before making unfounded accusations against our staff.
You contacted our practice four times this morning, Friday, 25 September 2026, within a short four-minute window between 10:27 a.m. and 10:31 a.m.
• First Call: You asked to speak with someone named ###. You were clearly informed that no one by that name works at this practice. The receptionist concluded the call to continue processing a patient who was standing at the desk. It is not our staff's responsibility to track down or investigate who you are trying to reach.
• Second & Third Calls: You called back repeatedly, raised your voice, questioned why the line was disconnected, and demanded to speak with a manager.
• Fourth Call: Because the continuous ringing was actively disrupting our reception staff and distressing patients waiting at the desk, we chose not to answer. You subsequently left a voicemail demanding that we call you back, threatening that you would take the matter to social media otherwise. However, you never even left a phone number for us to call.
True to your threat, because we did not call you back, you posted a malicious online review this afternoon. Please be assured we will be keeping your morning voicemail safely as a souvenir.
You are not a patient of this practice, and you have been firmly told that you have the wrong number. We do not have any information regarding the person you are searching for.
We would also like to make it clear that the person managing our front desk is proud to hold the title of receptionist. While she carries many other senior titles within our business and has plenty to boast about, she is happy to step in and serve our community at the front line. Being called our receptionist is a badge of honour she wears proudly, and your attempts to look down on her or her role will not be accepted.
Your online review is completely inaccurate, malicious, and misrepresents the situation. You have acted as the abuser in this situation while hiding behind an anonymous online profile. If anyone reading this can identify this individual from her fake name, please inbox us her real full name and telephone number.
Maimi W Ring us on Tuesday, 29 September 2026, and give us your full name and number so we can identify you.
