Our patient came to us with a broken upper denture.
1.) To start the process of making a brand new full upper denture: take moulds of the Upper + Lower teeth and make a special custom tray + wax rim
2.) Take secondary moulds using the special custom tray for the perfect fit. Record patient’s bite onto wax rim. This shows the lab technician how the patient bites.
3.) Decide on the colour of the teeth
4.) Wax try in: in this appt, we note down any changes that the patient wants. Here we can determine if the patient is happy with the positioning of the teeth, the height of the rim or “gums”, the shade of the teeth etc.
If the patient is happy, we can proceed to finalising the denture into a more permanent material.
If there are any changes that need to be made, a secondary wax try in appointment may be made.
Once the patient is happy with the overall look and feel, we will send the denture to the lab with instructions to proceed to finish.
And finally, last appointment is the denture insert ✨
