All of our staff at Mareeba Dental Centre aim to make your visit as comfortable and enjoyable, for yourself and the whole family. We enjoy providing reading material and activities for children in the waiting room, and our staff members are more than happy to have a chat with our valued customers and look after accompanying children. This Brain Injury Awareness Week (17-23 August 2026), we recognise that no two experiences of brain injury are the same.

This year’s theme 'Brain injury - Many pathways, one community', recognises the different ways brain injury can affect people, families and communities, and the importance of understanding, inclusion and support.

With around 1 in 45 Australians living with a brain injury, greater awareness can help make experiences that are often less visible better understood.

Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your dental appointment more comfortable or easier for you. We are always happy to discuss any additional support or adjustments you may need.

This Friday 19 June I retired from dentistry after 41 years in practice.
I would like to sincerely thank the Mareeba community for the trust and support you have shown me over those years.

It has been a privilege to care for so many individuals and families and to be part of such a wonderful community.

My heartfelt thanks also go to the many staff who have worked alongside me throughout my career. In particular, I would like to acknowledge Frances, my Practice Manager for the past 29 years. Her dedication, professionalism and care have been instrumental in the success of the practice, and I am deeply grateful for her support.

As Merrilee and I begin a new chapter in Brisbane, closer to our children Rory and Alena and our grandchildren, we do so with excitement and gratitude. Merrilee has been unwavering in her support of my career whilst pursuing her own career in medicine, which she practiced for 32 years serving the Mareeba community both privately and publicly.

I would also like to welcome Alex Park as the new owner of the practice and wish him every success in the years ahead.
Thank you, Mareeba, for the friendships, memories and support. We will always hold this community close to our hearts.
