Experienced Dental Assistant
The Opportunity: Distinctive Dental Mareeba is seeking an amazing qualified and experienced dental assistant to join our growing team.
The successful applicant must have; experience in four handed dentistry (a formal Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting is highly desirable), an excellent work ethic, a willingness to learn, a desire to deliver exceptional service, excellent communication skills with a compassionate attitude, a high level of attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently in a busy environment.
The successful applicant must also be honest, reliable and loyal, professional, well-presented and organised and a great team player.
Key Responsibilities: Our team aims to provide the best possible patient experience. We are looking for a friendly and positive person to; work closely with our dentists and oral health therapist to provide all aspects of chair-side dental assistance, complete instrument reprocessing and sterilisation procedures, maintain the surgery in accordance with infection control standards, liaise with reception and administration staff regarding patient care and treatment planning, assist in managing stock and inventory, and some reception/administrative duties as required in our growing practice.
The position is a permanent role of 32-38 hours per week. Applicants desiring a casual or part time position are still welcome to apply. An immediate start date and attractive remuneration is available for the right candidate.

Trainee Dental Assistant
The Opportunity: Distinctive Dental Mareeba is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated person with a desire for a career in dental assisting. We are looking for a positive, friendly, and hardworking person with a can-do attitude to help provide support and care to our patients and work closely with our experienced Dentists and Oral Health Therapist.
Full onsite training will be provided and no prior experience in the dental field is necessary. We are committed to ongoing training and development and the right candidate will be offered a Certificate III in Dental Assisting traineeship.
The successful applicant must be eager to learn, able to follow instructions carefully, have excellent communication skills and a great attitude and work ethic. The successful applicant must also be honest, reliable, loyal and well-presented. Being able to work as part of a team is essential and flexibility in hours is required as well as a willingness to learn and take initiative.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to: Chairside assisting the oral health therapist and dentists, sterilisation of instruments, cleaning and maintenance of instruments and equipment, surgery preparation and some reception duties such as answering phones and making appointments as well as other general duties as directed.
The position will start as a casual position with a minimum of 16 hours per week with the intention to transition to a permanent position with increased hours for the right person.
