Not necessarily.

Whether one, several or all four wisdom teeth need to be removed depends on their position, development, symptoms and the problems they may be causing or are likely to cause.

At Mackay Dental Sedation Clinic, we assess your wisdom teeth and discuss the treatment options that may be appropriate for you.

If removal is recommended, multiple wisdom teeth can often be removed during the same appointment. For patients who are anxious about wisdom tooth surgery, ๐ˆ๐• ๐ฌ๐ž๐๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง (๐ญ๐ฐ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ ๐ฌ๐ž๐๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง) may also be an option.

If youโ€™ve been advised that your wisdom teeth may need to be removed, contact our team to arrange an assessment and discuss your treatment and sedation options.

For some people, fear of needles can be one of the biggest barriers to having dental treatment.

At Mackay Dental Sedation Clinic, we regularly see patients with significant anxiety around needles or IV cannulation. We understand that for some people, this fear can be quite severe.

There are different ways we can approach needle anxiety depending on the individual patient and the treatment required. This may include taking extra time, using local anaesthetic cream before cannulation, or, for patients with severe needle phobia, oral sedative premedication before IV cannulation may be an option.

If a fear of needles has been preventing you from having dental treatment, talk to our team about the options that may be suitable for you.
