If your teeth are sensitive, you’ve probably just learned to live with it.

Cold drinks? Careful.
Ice cream? Slow.
Hot coffee? Bit of a sting.

We hear this all the time, but here’s the thing. Sensitive teeth aren’t something you’re meant to just put up with. They’re usually a sign that something’s changed.

It could be worn enamel, receding gums, or even a small issue starting to develop.

Sometimes it’s simple to manage, sometimes it needs a bit more attention.

Either way, it’s worth knowing why it’s happening, and we can help you there!

Book your appointment at Waratah Dental (02) 6351-3520 to speak with Dr Gabe, Dr Kylie, Dr John, Prue or Kelly and find ways to manage and restore your sensitive teeth.

Bad breath isn’t always about brushing your teeth. You can brush twice a day… and still have it. A lot of the time, the cause isn’t your teeth.

It can be things like:

* Bacteria on your tongue
* Food trapped between teeth
* Gum disease
* Dry mouth (especially overnight)
* Even sinus issues

Brushing your teeth is important, but it doesn’t fix everything.

The solution usually comes down to a more complete routine, such as:

* Cleaning your tongue
* Flossing properly
* Staying hydrated
* Regular professional cleans

However, if bad breath is sticking around, it’s worth getting it checked properly.

Make your appointment at Waratah Dental today, and we’ll help you banish the bad breath for good!

Do you notice blood when you brush or floss?

It’s one of the most common things we hear, and one of the most misunderstood.

Healthy gums don’t bleed.

Bleeding is usually a sign that plaque and bacteria are building up along the gumline, causing inflammation.

This is called gingivitis, and at this stage, it’s completely reversible.

But if left untreated, it can progress to more advanced gum disease, which can lead to long-term damage.

What to do:

* Keep brushing gently but thoroughly
* Don’t avoid flossing (this is where bleeding often starts)
* Book in for a dental clean

If you’re unsure, we’re always happy to check things out and point you in the right direction.

You might be grinding your teeth… and not even know it.

Most people think they’d feel it.

But a lot of the time, it happens while you’re asleep.

Here are a few signs we see all the time:

• Waking up with a sore jaw
• Headaches first thing in the morning
• Teeth that look flatter or worn down
• Increased sensitivity to hot or cold
• Clicking or tightness in your jaw

Left untreated, grinding can cause serious wear and even cracks in your teeth.

The good news? It’s something we can spot early and manage properly.

If any of this sounds like you, it might be worth getting it checked.
