Teething can feel overwhelming for both bubs and parents. It is often confused with unrelated infant symptoms such as diarrhoea, ear infection, runny nose or high temperatures. These symptoms may be coincidental viral infections and not a result of teething.
Teething can lead to sore, red or swollen gums. Sometimes a bluish fluid-filled lump may appear just before the tooth erupts. Discomfort related to teething may cause your child to become more restless or cranky. You may also notice a mild rash around the mouth from drooling and your baby may have a tendency to chew on fingers or toys to relieve the gum pressure.
