In 1866, Lucy Hobbs Taylor made history as the first woman to receive a degree in dentistry, breaking barriers and paving the way for future generations of women in oral health. At the time, dentistry was a male-dominated profession, but thanks to pioneers like Lucy, the field has seen a remarkable shift towards gender equality.
Fast forward to today, the number of women entering the dental profession continues to rise. In Queensland, female dentists now outnumber their male counterparts, and across Australia, women represent nearly 50% of registered oral health practitioners. 🚺👏
At Innova Dental, we are proud to champion equity, diversity, and inclusivity in dentistry. Today, we celebrate the incredible women in our team - from our highly skilled female dentists to our dental assistants and receptionist who help make world-class dental care accessible to our community. Your dedication, compassion, and expertise inspire us every day!
This International Women’s Day, let’s continue to push for an even more inclusive, equitable future in dentistry. 💜🦷
