💙Do It For Dolly Day💙

To help change the life of Australia’s children, Yamanto Dental took part in ‘Do It For Dolly Day’. This national awareness day helps raise awareness for the effects of bullying in order to help put an end to it.

In Australia it is reported that from grades 4-9 at least 25% of children are bullied, with it being estimated that a child is bullied every 15 minutes. On top of this, around three youths take their lives per week due to bullying.

Therefore, Yamanto Dental wore blue scrubs and other accessories of the same colour to spread awareness about cyber and other types of bullying.

On the 3rd of January 2018, Dolly Everett took her own life aged only 14 due to extensive bullying. After the tragic death of their daughter, Dolly, Kate and Tick Everett established ‘Do It For Dolly Day’, a nationwide event where participants are encouraged to wear blue in order to raise awareness and help to prevent bullying and cyberbullying.

‘Do It For Dolly Day’ takes place on the first Friday of May every year. Therefore, this year it will take place on the 8th of May.

Yamanto Dental Surgery will be taking part in ‘Do It For Dolly Day’ this year to help raise awareness and prevent bullying of all forms. This will be done by wearing blue from the 4th to the 9th of May as well as fundraising for the ‘Do It For Dolly’ organisation, which helps to fund anti-bullying workshops, bullying support lines, cyber safety apps, etc. The link to help raise money for this important event is below:
