Do you know warning signs of oral cancer? Some symptoms may include:
• A white or red patch on the gums, tongue or the inside of the mouth
• Swelling of the jaw
• Unusual bleeding, pain or numbness in the mouth

If you notice any of these symptoms, it’s important to make an appointment to get it checked.

As we approach World Head and Neck Cancer Day on 27 July we are asking for your help to raise awareness by sharing the signs and symptoms of with friends, family and work colleagues.

While are largely curable if detected early a lack of awareness of the signs and symptoms of head and neck cancer can have devastating consequences.

There are NO screening tests for : early detection can save lives and improve patient outcomes.

You might notice that oral surgeons' attire is looking a bit different since COVID-19.

In addition to our standard mask and gloves, we've integrated face shields, head covers, protective eye wear, gowns and other protective clothing into our daily wardrobe.

These are part of the measures that have been put in place to allow us to protect our patients, our team members and ourselves while providing care.

In some patients there is not enough bone in their jaw to allow dental implants to be inserted. In cases where more bone is needed, it may be possible to rebuild the jaw using bone taken from another source.
