⚡ Power Outage ⚡

Due to some pretty wild weather, we’re currently experiencing a power outage at the clinic. While power is expected to return later tonight, we’re unable to see patients at the moment.

If you have an appointment today, we’ll need to reschedule – but don’t worry, our friendly team will be in touch shortly and we will try our very best to get you a prioritised appointment. If you have any concerns or questions, feel free to give us a call at 9652 1888.

This week is Dr Darpana’s last week with us before she heads off for her well-deserved maternity leave! We showered her with more All Smiles/teeth-related paraphernalia, the most gorgeous bunch of flowers from our favourite , and our warmest wishes for this new chapter of her life.

We know that you are going to be an amazing and nurturing mother to one beautiful baby, Dr Darpana, and we can’t wait to find out if you’re going to have a boy or girl (although for unknown reasons, everyone here seems to be sure that it’s a boy 😂).

Today marks a bittersweet day for us all at All Smiles.

In 2017, an eager young lady with a stellar work attitude joined us at All Smiles. She was keen to learn, had a can-do attitude, and impressed us with a maturity beyond her age.

Over the past six years, she immersed herself into the brand new world of dental assisting and dental receptioning, never allowing the complexities of this often challenging job to intimidate or overwhelm her. Instead, she embraced each challenge and bounced back at every setback, choosing to live according to her values and grew in confidence, experience and intellect.

From today, there will be an intermission from her time at All Smiles as she transitions into something even more rewarding – trading the financial rewards of her responsibilities for stacks of nappy changes, mountains of baby wipes, and the sweet, sweet tender cuddles that only a newborn baby can bring.

Very soon, our beautiful Beth will be a Mum.

While we are overjoyed for Beth as she enters this exciting new chapter of her life, we also know that we will be dearly missing her presence at All Smiles. Beth has become so much a part of the All Smiles family and we know that our regular patients will likewise be missing her as she takes some time off to enjoy motherhood as a first time Mum.

To mark this momentous occasion, we have gifted Beth with:

1. A nappy cake with stacks of nappies to kickstart her collection;

2. The world's first and only personalised All Smiles Tooth plushie, for her baby's first introduction to the All Smiles family;

3. A Bluey bib – because every Aussie tot will jump onto the Bluey bandwagon sooner or later so we might as well start him off early – embroidered with a public service announcement to remind you to floss your teeth even while he can't (yet);

4. A personalised security blanket with a squishy sun because he will be her son (and we love puns);

5. A bottle of Champagne to celebrate this momentous occasion when the time comes, because this is such a beautiful, beautiful cause for celebration;

6. A faceless portrait of radiant Beth glowing in her pregnancy, digitally illustrated by hand with love;

7. Some teeth essentials to remind him that dental care is a priority; and finally;

8. Handwritten notes from the All Smiles team with our best Motherhood tips and well wishes, including "Do not leave the house without wet wipes" and the very essential "Do not forget your baby at the park".

We will miss you so much, our dear Beth, and look forward to having you back with us in the future. Please come to visit with your squishy bundle of joy so that we can all swoon over him and give him more baby toothbrushes.

Change has arrived in the way of our Dr Joti Lidder and very sadly, today is her last day with us at All Smiles Family Dental Care! Dr Joti will be relocating to the UK with her family very soon and she has embraced this upcoming change by successfully enrolling in the prestigious Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Paediatric Dentistry) postgraduate course to further her knowledge and professional expertise whilst there.

Through the time with us, Dr Joti has been valued for her conscientiousness and her willingness to go the extra mile for her patients. We know that she would be missed by both patients and colleagues alike!

In the meantime, so that she doesn’t forget her roots in this wonderful country we have the luxury to call home, we have kindly gifted her …

- The Art of Self-Kindness, by Australian psychologist and author, Dr Rebecca Ray, because her kind and generous soul would benefit from constant reminders to be self-compassionate 💗 ;

- A bottle of red and white wine 🍷 from our favourite Australian vineyards, because her tastebuds may need to be reminded that we have some of the best vineyards in the world (IMHO);

- A pair of Good Luck Coolala (the only animal cooler than a koala 🐨 itself) socks, to keep her feet warm and cozy when she trades our warm sunshine for days of constant rain 🌧 ;

- A box of freshly baked Anzac biscuits 🍪 , homemade with love to honour those who have lost their lives in selfless bravery so that we may enjoy the freedoms that we do this day;

- A limited edition (so “limited edition” that we still have some left to share with the community anytime, so feel free to shout out the next time you’re in the neighbourhood if you’d like one) All Smiles Family Dental Care bright orange shopping bag so that she can be a die-hard All Smiles fan even when continents away; and finally,

- Monopoly Australia, the board game, for the moments when she’s missing home and needs to be reminded that Sydney Harbour trumps Mayfair any day of the week!

We are so proud of her and her tenacity and wish her and her family all the best in their future endeavours.

Nearly 6 years ago, a young lady with no industry experience but a truckload of enthusiasm and a strong work ethic started work with us at All Smiles Family Dental Care.

Over these years, she has learnt plenty, contributed more, and at some point even developed a fascination in all things teeth 🦷. She threw herself into a Uni degree, embraced the challenges that life brought her, and is now a fully registered dental hygienist and therapist! 🎉 🥳 🎈

Today, Maddi completes her All Smiles journey and is moving on to rural NSW to devote her time to improve the public dental health of NSW.

Thank you for the years, Maddi; we are so proud of you and know that you will contribute positively to your next workplace. We never like losing staff (and thankfully we rarely do 💗 ), but if there’s one good reason for a staff member to leave, this is it!
