Anterior Crown: A brighter Smile for Our Patient with a Denture
We recently had a patient who came to us looking for a way to improve the appearance of her smile. She had a denture, but she was unhappy with the color of one of her front teeth. She wanted to make it whiter and more natural-looking, but she also wanted it to still look like the original tooth shape.
We discussed her options and decided that the best solution for her was to have an anterior crown placed on her front tooth. Anterior crowns are a type of dental restoration that covers the front teeth. They can be used to repair teeth that are chipped, cracked, or severely decayed. They can also be used to improve the appearance of teeth that are discolored, crooked, or misshapen.
In this case, we used porcelain to match the color of the patient's denture. We also made sure that the crown was the correct size and shape to fit with her denture and to still look like the original tooth shape.
The procedure took two appointments. In the first appointment, we prepared the tooth and took a 3D scan. In the second appointment, we placed the crown.
The patient is very happy with her new smile. She says that it makes her feel more confident and comfortable. She is also grateful that we were able to find a solution that would work with her denture and still look like the original tooth shape.
