We will be closed on Thursday and Friday as our team attends the Australian Orthodontic Congress. 🦷✨

This is a great opportunity for our staff to continue learning, growing, and staying up to date with the latest in orthodontic care.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗥𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝘅𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 (𝗥𝗠𝗘)
An RME is used to widen a narrow upper jaw, but also can help correct a crossbite or create space to straighten teeth later on.

The upper jaw is made of two bones joined in the middle of the roof of the mouth. Before these bones fuse (around age 14–16), we can gently widen them using the RME. As the jaw expands, new bone forms in between to keep everything stable.

A parent or caregiver will need to help adjust the appliance at home, so they should attend the delivery appointment. 😊
