Celine’s been here four years. You’ve probably seen her by the front desk, or in surgery.

She arrived with no dental experience. She saw what Nelson was building and decided to stay. They renovated the space together, painted the walls themselves, wrote their names behind the Valley Dental wall.

Now she runs the practice. She coordinates surgeries, manages the schedule, holds the whole operation together.

She’ll be the first person you see when you walk in. The one who makes sure you’re not nervous. The one who knows your name and your history before you sit down.

Some days at the practice are bigger than others.

Last month we completed a full mouth rehabilitation: implants across the upper and lower arch, teeth fitted the next day. The kind of case where planning, precision and timing have to move as one.

Most people put this conversation off because they're afraid of what we'll find, or what it'll cost, or how long it's been. A consultation is exactly what it sounds like: we assess your mouth, we explain what's possible, we tell you what we actually think.

If it's something you've been meaning to do, reach out, we're here to help.

Meet David, our new oral health therapist.

He does the cleanings, the whitening, the implant maintenance. He knows why parents show up nervous to a first visit, he knows flossing is the thing nobody's doing right, and he's figured out that baby teeth need the correct brush technique from day one, with the right toothpaste for the age (who knew).

Save this if you've got young ones at home, or if you're the adult who needs the reminder.

Book online or ring us.

The hardest part of a smile makeover is knowing when to say no.

We have done over fifty of them here now, and the number is not the interesting part.

The interesting part is that a good result almost always involves doing less than the person walked in asking for.

Everyone arrives with a picture. Usually of someone else's teeth, usually very white and very straight and very much not the shape of their own face. And the skill, the thing that takes years, is not being able to give them that. Anyone can give them that.

The skill is knowing what will still look right in fifteen years, on them, when they are older and the fashion has moved on.

Dr Nelson has spent a long time on this. Extra degrees in dental technology, so he understands how a tooth is built rather than only how it is fitted. Study under different tutors in different countries. He is finishing a Masters in Germany in implantology right now, on top of the day job.

None of that shows up in a photograph. It shows up in what he talks people out of.

Every case is different and results depend on the individual. Come and have the conversation.

Dentistry has changed the way every industry has changed.

The technology, the materials, the workflows.

So if you are putting it off because of what you think you know about the dentist, you are probably picturing something that no longer exists.

It is not the same job it was.

How do people let their teeth get so bad?

We get asked this, and there is an assumption buried in the question, so let us answer it properly.

It is almost never laziness.

It is money. Someone had a year where the choice was the dentist or the rent, and it was never the dentist, and then that year became four.

It is fear. Something happened once, often when they were small, and nobody explained anything, and it hurt, and the body remembers.

And then it is shame, which is the one that really does the damage. Because the longer you leave it, the worse you imagine the reaction will be, and so you leave it longer. And the shame builds a wall that is far harder to get through than any amount of decay.

So people wait. Not because they do not care. Because they care so much about what we might think that they cannot walk through the door.

Here is the truth. We are not thinking it. We have seen everything, we are not shocked, and we are not keeping score.

We are just glad you came.

Are Ozempic and peptides affecting your teeth? Honestly, it's too early to say.

We're still waiting on the long term studies. The benefits might outweigh the side effects. They might not. We just don't know yet. It's a conversation we've been having in the practice lately and a topic worth exploring.
