Oops!... We Did It Again

Been holding off posting this because, you know, you can’t have your feed just FULL of award nominations…

But here we are.

We’re super pumped to be finalists in the Australasian Dentist Awards for:

It’s rare for a practice this young to have such a clear personality…And different from what people expect of a dentist.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

So, as you might have guessed (somehow) Cheeky took out the Australian Women’s Champion Business Award for Dentistry.

Not yet 2 years old.

Not to brag (here we go) we always knew we could build something special, because a lot of dentistry is broken. We just out here just trying to fix it.

We’re hiring a part-time dentist in Sydney to work across our Waterloo and Five Dock dental practices.

We’re looking for someone to start 1–2 days a week, with the opportunity to increase as your books grow.

You’ll need to be confident in general dentistry, great with people, happy working as part of a team, and able to provide Botox for masseter / bruxism / TMJ and cosmetic treatments.
Experience with implant surgery, surgical extractions and wisdom teeth removal is a very big bonus, but not essential.

There’ll be some Saturday availability required, not every Saturday, and remuneration is 40% commission.

More than anything, we want someone who gives a s**t about their patients, plays nicely with others, has no weird dentist ego, and actually wants to be part of what we’re building at Cheeky.
Cheeky ’tude essential.

The Cheeky Tram had an absolute bubble of a time at the Drummoyne Public School P&C School Fete again this year!

There was bowling, bubbles (the kids kind) and bags of goodies and. It to mention the hint of spring in the air.

Well… this is bloody exciting. 🥹💗

Out of more than 3,500 entries from small businesses across Australia, Cheeky has been named a finalist in the 2026 Australian Women’s Small Business Champion Awards. *pops ch*****ne 🥂

Which is slightly nuts when you consider that less than two years ago Cheeky was basically:

Two idiots and a Gabi Gabi
One dental chair.
A very Cheeky name.
And a belief that going to the dentist could do better.

Since then, one practice became two.
Our team grew to eight incredible women.

We’ve made approximatly 47 million mistakes but backed ourselves when it would have been easier not to, and kept building the kind of dental practice we wanted to breath into existence.

No mystery costs, no lectures, and absolutely no wet-lettuce energy.

We obviously didn’t get here by ourselves.

THANK YOU TO:

Our team. (And our wider team - you know who you are)
Every patient.
Every review.
Every friend you sent our way.
Every school, day care, sporting club and local business that said yes to being our friend and doing things with us.

So this one belongs to our team, our patients, our families and the communities around Five Dock and Waterloo.

But guess what - we’re nowhere near finished.

From one chair and two mates to two practices, eight women and a national awards final.

Not bad, Cheeky. Not bad. 💗

Well, we did it.

We are officially CAPITAL F.A.Y.M.O.U.S. Finally being recognised for our extraordinary talents, emotional resilience and ability to run multiple dental practices surviving on chocolate, caffeine (and chaos).

JK. Sort of.

But we are featured in this month’s Bite Magazine, waxing lyrical about all things business-partnerish: the wins, the hard bits, the “whose idea was this?” bits, and the very glamorous reality of building not one, but two (this was the who's idea was this part) dental practices.

It has been a long, f* hard slog, with approximately 47,000 lessons learned, and we’re still only at the beginning.

But if Gloria Gaynor taught us anything, it’s that we will survive (preferably with better boundaries).

But honestly? We wouldn’t have survive without you lot.

Our team, our patients, our cheer squad, our community, our review-leavers, our appointment-bookers, our snack-bringers, our “I hate the dentist but I love you guys” legends.

Thank you for backing us, trusting us, laughing with us, and letting us poke around in your mouths for a bit.
