Another excellent orthodontic outcome completed at Ellenbrook Orthodontics.

This patient initially presented with a Class II Division 2 malocclusion, characterised by retroclined upper front teeth and a deep overbite. The patient also had a 100% overbite, resulting in localised attrition and wear of the lower anterior teeth due to excessive contact between the upper and lower front teeth.

Treatment focused on correcting the deep bite, improving the alignment and inclination of the upper incisors, and establishing a healthier, more functional bite relationship. A key factor in the success of this case was the patient’s excellent compliance with elastic wear throughout treatment.

Thanks to their consistency and commitment, treatment was completed in just 16 months — significantly ahead of the original estimated treatment time of 18–24 months.

The final result is a balanced bite, improved function, reduced risk of further tooth wear, and a confident, healthy smile.

A healthier bite and a more balanced smile following early orthodontic treatment.

This patient presented with an 8mm overjet, a traumatic deep bite, and a lower lip trap — where the lower lip sits behind the upper front teeth, placing excessive pressure on the front teeth and contributing to bite imbalance. If left untreated, these issues can increase the risk of tooth wear, trauma to the upper front teeth, and functional concerns over time.

Treatment was completed using Angel Aligner KIDS, an advanced clear aligner system designed specifically for growing patients. In addition to aligning the teeth, Angel Aligner KIDS incorporates mandibular advancement features that help guide jaw development and improve the relationship between the upper and lower jaws during growth. This allows us to address both tooth alignment and underlying bite discrepancies at the same time.

The result was correction of the excessive overjet, improvement of the traumatic deep bite and lower lip trap, and a more stable, functional, and aesthetic outcome.

Early orthodontic intervention can play an important role in guiding healthy growth and reducing the need for more complex treatment later in adolescence.

This young patient presented to Ellenbrook Orthodontics with an increased overjet of 8mm, a traumatic deep bite of 80%, and a lower lip trap.

An increased overjet refers to excessive projection of the upper front teeth ahead of the lower teeth, while a traumatic deep bite occurs when the upper front teeth excessively overlap the lower teeth, potentially causing trauma to the gums and teeth. A lower lip trap develops when the lower lip becomes positioned behind the upper front teeth, which can further accentuate the prominence of the upper teeth over time.

Treatment was completed in 14 months using Angel Kids aligners with integrated bite blocks. This approach allowed us to align the teeth while simultaneously encouraging favourable lower jaw development and correcting the deep bite relationship.

A fantastic functional and aesthetic outcome achieved with early interceptive orthodontic treatment.

This patient presented with moderate upper and lower crowding, an anterior open bite, and a 2 mm lower midline deviation to the right.

Using clear aligners, we were able to correct the crowding, improve the bite relationship, and align the dental midlines, resulting in a functional and aesthetic outcome.
