Before & After

This patient started treatment with:
• 7mm overjet — the upper front teeth were significantly positioned ahead of the lower teeth
• 70% deep, traumatic overbite — the lower teeth were biting heavily into the gum behind the upper teeth
• Lack of space for the lower left canine (33)
• Class II occlusion on the right-hand side

Through orthodontic treatment with braces, we were able to improve the alignment of the teeth and correct the bite, creating a healthier and more functional relationship between the upper and lower teeth.

Correcting these issues can help to:
• Improve the way the teeth come together when biting and chewing
• Reduce excessive forces and trauma on the teeth and surrounding gums
• Make teeth easier to clean, helping with long-term oral hygiene
• Improve the position and alignment of crowded teeth
• Create a more balanced bite and smile
• Improve both function and confidence in the smile

Before and After Transformation

Before treatment, this patient had a deep bite and increased overjet, meaning the upper front teeth sat too far forward and overlapped the lower teeth more than ideal.

They also had a Class II bite, which was partly related to the lower jaw sitting further back. In addition, there was not enough room for an upper premolar (25) to erupt normally.

After discussing the options, the patient and mum chose a combination of braces and Class II elastics, along with removal of the impacted tooth.

✨ **So what were we aiming to achieve?**

• Reduce the amount the upper front teeth protruded
• Improve the deep overbite
• Improve the relationship between the upper and lower jaws and teeth
• Create better space and alignment
• Establish a more balanced and functional bite
• Improve the overall appearance of the smile

The final result shows how orthodontic treatment can do much more than simply straighten teeth.

Every patient is different, and treatment is individually planned based on their teeth, bite and stage of growth.

In fact, brushing too aggressively can irritate your gums and contribute to enamel wear over time.

We recommend to use a soft-bristled toothbrush, gentle pressure and take your time to clean all those hard-to-reach areas — especially around your braces or orthodontic appliances.

This Daffodil Day, we’re proud to come together to support people affected by cancer and help fund life-changing cancer research, prevention and support services. 💛

🌼 Our office is getting involved too! We purchased our beautiful daffodils from our local florist, Flower Scentral Ellenbrook, to bring a little sunshine, hope and awareness into the office while supporting this important cause.

Every daffodil represents hope — hope for better treatments, better support, and a future where no one has to face cancer alone.

Congratulations to Madison on completing her orthodontic treatment and achieving her beautiful new smile.

When Madison first presented, she had moderate crowding in both the upper and lower arches, requiring careful treatment planning to create the space needed for ideal alignment.

Madison maintained a high standard of oral hygiene and healthy dietary habits throughout treatment, which contributed to the success of her orthodontic journey.
