Damaged or weakened tooth? Here is what a crown preparation appointment generally looks like.
Dr Kevin at DENTL East Melbourne walks through a crown preparation appointment with patient Keresia, and explains when a crown may be clinically discussed as an option.
Crowns may be considered for teeth that have been weakened by large fillings, cracks, or extensive wear. During the preparation appointment, the tooth is prepared and clinical records are taken to assist with designing a crown intended to fit the prepared tooth and support its function based on individual clinical findings.
Suitability for a crown is always assessed on an individual basis. If you have a damaged or weakened tooth, a clinical assessment can help determine what may be appropriate for your situation.
