Scrubs off, race-day outfits on! 🐎🥂

The BB Dental crew swapped the surgery for the Gordonvale races this weekend.

We’ll stick to picking cavities rather than picking winners! 🦷✨

This weekend I'll be representing BB Dental and joining our local community for Relay For Life.

Relay For Life is so much more than just walking laps. It's an opportunity to celebrate cancer survivors, remember those we've lost, and stand alongside those who are currently facing their own cancer journey.

Like so many people, cancer has touched the lives of my family, friends, colleagues and patients. It's a cause that's close to my heart, and I'm proud to be taking part in such a meaningful community event for the first time.

One thing that has truly surprised me has been the incredible support I've received during my fundraising. So many people have shared their own stories of how cancer has touched their lives, and every donation has come with a story, a memory, or someone they are honouring. It's been a deeply humbling experience and a reminder of just how many lives this disease affects.

If you're taking part this weekend, I hope you have an amazing Relay. Every lap, every donation and every volunteer helps make a difference.

Some exciting news from our team...

We've been named a Finalist in the 2026 Cairns & Regions Local Business Awards! 🎉

Running a dental practice is about so much more than fixing teeth. It's about building relationships, helping people feel comfortable, and looking after our community.

To everyone who has trusted us with your dental care...thank you! Your support means the world to us.

We're so proud of our entire team for everything they've achieved, especially with all the changes and growth we've experienced recently.

🍷FOODS THAT SECRETLY STAIN YOUR TEETH

It's not just coffee causing the damage...Some everyday favourites are quietly dulling your smile.👇

🫐 Blueberries
Packed with antioxidants...and deep staining pigments.

🍛 Curry
Delicious? Yes.
A tumeric crime scene for your teeth?
Also yes.

🥤 Sports drinks
Acid + artificial colouring = double trouble.

🧃Dark juices
Grape, cranberry and pomegranate are basically nature's mouth dye.

🍅 Tomato-based pasta sauces
Acidic enough to soften the enamel AND stain it.

☕ Tea
Plot twist: some black teas can stain MORE than coffee!

🥡 Soy sauce & balsamic glaze
Sneaky dark pigments that cling to enamel.

The good news?
You don't need to give them up forever 🙌
☑️ Drink water after
☑️ Don't brush immediately after acidic foods
☑️ Use a straw where possible
☑️ Keep up regular cleans

Your teeth don't need a boring life, just a little maintenance.

🌸 HAPPY MOTHERS DAY! 🌸

Mums spend years saying things like:

🪥 “Did you brush your teeth?”
🍭 “One lolly is enough.”
😬 “Don’t use your teeth to open that.”
📅 “We’re NOT cancelling that dental appointment.”

…and somehow they still end up sharing their fries, carrying everyone’s mental load, and booking the whole family’s check-ups.

This Mother’s Day, we’d like to give a huge shoutout to all the mums, grandmothers, stepmums, carers, and mother-figures who keep families smiling (sometimes literally).

💐 We hope your day includes:
✔️ Hot coffee
✔️ Zero complaints
✔️ Chocolate you don’t have to share
✔️ At least one uninterrupted trip to the bathroom

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at the BB Dental 💖

Swipe through to see some of our beautiful team mums with their little (and not so little anymore) loves 🥹📸

Luke is swapping suction and scrubs for sweat and wheelbarrows this weekend 🚴‍♂️😂

Our 4th year dentistry student is taking part in this year’s Great Wheelbarrow Race with Missy’s Donors, proving that dental students apparently do have energy for things outside of uni and the clinic.

We’re always proud to support our team getting involved in community events (even questionable endurance decision).

This is the last opportunity If you’d like to support the team and their fundraising efforts, donations can be made here ❤️

Good luck to everyone participating — may the tyres stay inflated and the legs keep working! 🙌

This ANZAC Day, we take a moment to reflect, remember, and honour all who have served and sacrificed.

Lest we forget.

BB Dental is closed for Easter...
mainly so we can eat chocolate without judgement 🍫👀

We’ll be back Tuesday 7th April...brush, floss, and try not to undo all our hard work 😄🐰

Jess turns 21 today! 🎉

We had a blast celebrating the big event last night, so we suspect today’s main plans include sleep, snacks and possibly avoiding sunlight.

Happy Birthday from your work family, we’ll see you when you’ve recovered! and don’t worry Jess… we won’t ask if you flossed before bed last night 🥳"
