The Science of Goals
Here’s a few tips for 2023…
Willpower is a myth. It's emotionally powered, and emotions are fickle. Wanting to do something — no matter how badly you want it — won't make it happen. You need a plan and you need to change something in your lifestyle.
Realistically assess the obstacles and resources involved, and create a strategy for navigating that reality. Your environment, your schedule and your accountability must be programmed in such a way that all three support you. Life is full of temptations and opportunities to fail. Without programming, you will find it much harder to stay the course.
Major life changes don't just happen; they happen one step at a time.
Steady progress through well-chosen, realistic, interval steps produces results. Know what those steps are before you set out.
For your dental health this year commit to the following steps:
1. Prioritise your oral health. Make an appointment with your Dentist at least 1 a year.
2. Brush your teeth twice a day. Ask your Dentist about your technique.
3. Floss daily. To remove the rest of the 40% of plaque bacteria. Use a flossette to make the job easier & get it done in 30 seconds.
4. Stay hydrated with still water. 2L a day to maximum mental & physical performance.
5. Get your teeth and gums cleaned twice this year with a professional.
6. Eat real food produced by Mother Nature. Your unhealthy choices end up hurting you.
7. Breathe through your nose with the tongue at the roof of your mouth with your lips sealed.
8. Slow down, meditate and do things that make you relaxed, every single day.
9. Don’t use the absence of pain as the barometer of good oral health. Most issues in the mouth don’t cause any pain. Be proactive not reactive.
