👋 | Meet Rory and Melissa from Southlakes Dental

Rory was born and raised in Dubbo and moved to Orange to study dentistry at Charles Sturt University. Here he met Melissa, and after finishing their studies, they returned to Dubbo to work.

Southlakes Dental has been operating for two years and offers a comprehensive range of dental services, including general, emergency, and cosmetic dental care, as well as replacement options such as implants.

When asked why they started a business in the Dubbo region, Rory and Melissa said, “It allows us to stay closely connected to the community. Dentistry provides us with the privilege of seeing patients regularly, and there is such joy in catching up on different life milestones and watching families grow.”

“It’s the people that make Dubbo so special. Having grown up here, Rory experienced the kindness and support of the community through school, sport and everyday life. This has been extended to both of us. We are so grateful and humbled by the immense support we have received in the early years of our small business and look forward to the many years ahead of us,” Melissa said.

“Dubbo is a thriving regional city and a wonderful place to call home. We continue to advocate for Dubbo as a fantastic hub for young professionals to meet people, build relationships and enjoy a rewarding and fulfilling career.”

We are so excited to welcome Dr Shirley, who will be joining our team in May!

Dr Shirley completed her Dentistry degree at The University of Sydney. Having a passion for serving regional Australia, she moved to Dubbo in 2023 and has loved it here ever since.

Shirley enjoys all aspects of dentistry, and is especially passionate about helping people feel confident and supported in achieving a healthy, well-cared-for smile.

Outside the clinic, Shirley can often be found with a good book, cooking, or tending to her ever-growing indoor jungle 🌱
