Ever wondered if you’re actually flossing correctly?

Flossing is one of the simplest things you can do for your oral health—but technique matters. The right approach helps remove plaque where your toothbrush can’t reach and supports healthier gums.

In this video, Dr William walks you through the proper way to floss so you can get the most out of your daily routine.

Save this post for your next brushing session and share it with someone who could use the reminder!

Ever wondered why your breath smells worse in the morning?

While you sleep, your mouth produces less saliva. With less saliva to wash away bacteria, they multiply overnight and release odours that cause morning breath.

The good news? It’s completely normal—and there are simple ways to improve it.

🦷 Brush, floss, clean your tongue, and stay hydrated.

🌼 School holidays are here!

With the rush of school lunches, activities, and busy schedules on pause, now is the perfect time to tick your child’s dental check-up off the list.

Regular dental visits help keep growing smiles healthy, allow us to monitor development, and can prevent small concerns from becoming bigger ones down the track.

At Sweet Smile Dental, we aim to make every visit a positive and comfortable experience for children and parents alike.

Give your little one a healthy start for the next school term and book their check-up during the holidays. 🤍

Dental anxiety is more common than many people realise. Yet for so many people, it remains something they carry quietly.

It’s not about neglecting your smile.
It’s often about the fear, uncertainty, overwhelm, or past experiences that make taking the first step feel difficult.

At Sweet Smile Dental, we believe dental care should feel different.

A space where you can ask questions.
A space where you feel heard.
A space where your comfort matters just as much as your smile.

Because when care feels calm, supportive, and safe, looking after your oral health becomes something you can move towards with confidence.

If it’s been a while since your last visit, that’s okay.

We’re here when you’re ready. 🤍

Many people think brushing harder means cleaning better, but that’s not always the case. Over time, aggressive brushing can wear away the protective tooth structure and cause the gums to recede, exposing the more sensitive root surface underneath.

If you’ve noticed sensitivity to cold drinks, sweets, or even brushing itself, your brushing technique could be playing a role.

Got a gap between your teeth and thinking of leaving it for later?

In this video, Dr William explains why acting sooner can often make treatment simpler. Over time, neighbouring teeth can gradually shift and rotate into the space, which may make it more difficult to address down the track.

He also discusses some of the options available to help close or replace the gap, depending on your individual situation.
