If a permanent tooth gets knocked out, follow these steps immediately:

- Handle with care: Pick it up by the crown (the white part), NEVER the root.

- Clean gently: If it's dirty, rinse it with water. No soap, no scrubbing!

- Replant or Store: If you can, tuck it back into the socket. If not, keep it in a small container of milk or saliva.
