Job description:
ROLE OVERVIEW
A dentist is involved in diagnosing treating a diverse range of issues affecting an individual’s oral health. The role of a dentist includes, however is not limited to, examining patients, coordinating diagnostic procedures including radiography, diagnosing dental disease and performing oral surgeries such as the removal of wisdom teeth.

A dentist will have supervisory responsibilities to dental assistants, dental hygienists and dental therapists and may have oversight of the day to day management of a practice.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
• Diagnose dental disease and develop comprehensive diagnosis and treatment plans
• Undertake teeth cleaning, application of fluoride and other pharmaceutical interventions
• Restore teeth using crowns, veneers and fillings
• Replace lost teeth with crowns and dentures
• Perform surgical procedures on the teeth, bone and soft tissues of the oral cavity
• Write prescriptions to assist with pain and disease management
• Create treatment plans for patients to maintain or restore oral health
• Manage complex cases with multidisciplinary management
• Administer anesthetics as required (and where trained to do so)
• Monitor growth and development of the teeth and jaw
OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
• Educate patients on the ways to prevent recurrence of disease
• Practice management
• Supervise treatments by allied dental staff such as hygienists and prosthetists

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Dentistry (or equivalent) that is recognised by the Dental Board of Australia.
Registration with the Dental Board of Australia.
Required Experience: At least 2 years of experience working within a dental practice.
Required Skills: • Excellent communication skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Business acumen
• Attention to detail
• Well organised, great time management and able to multi task
• Diagnostic experience.

Hi everyone!
Roger Sharpe Dental will be closed for Christmas and New Years. Our phone will be operational during this time to take voice messages. Dr Harvey is on leave until the 13th of January 2026 due to this going forward we will only be able to book appointments for when she returns in 2026.

With the assistance of Dental Operations One Pty Ltd ACN 686 516 638, a wholly owned subsidiary of the ADTY Group that partners with and collaborates with 9 dental practices across 2 states, we will continue to focus on delivering excellent service to our valued patients, with the additional assistance of a partner with national reach including access to support in dental techniques, technology, and national staffing.

Please be assured that Dr Nadeswaran, Dr Sharpe, Shai, Martha, Mel and I, will continue to treat all our patients and all new patients as we continue to grow.
