🦷 The thing that could be damaging your smile… and it’s NOT sugar! 😬

We often talk about sugar when it comes to protecting our teeth, but there’s another culprit to watch out for — ACID!

Acidic drinks can gradually weaken and wear away your tooth enamel, even when they contain little or no sugar.

Some common acidic drinks include:
🥤 Soft drinks — including sugar-free options
💧 Soda water & sparkling water
🧃 Fruit juices
⚡️ Energy & sports drinks

Frequent exposure to acid can lead to enamel erosion, which may cause sensitivity, discolouration and permanent wear to your teeth.

A few simple tips:
💧 Choose plain water as your everyday drink
🦷 Avoid brushing immediately after acidic drinks — give your enamel time to recover
🥤 Keep acidic drinks to mealtimes rather than sipping them throughout the day. And opt for a straw!
🚿 Rinse your mouth with water afterwards

Remember — sugar-free doesn’t always mean tooth-friendly! 🦷✨

It’s hard to put into words just how much Alex has meant to everyone here at Coburg Dental Group. Her kindness, dedication, warmth and genuine care have made a lasting impact on so many of our patients and our team over the years.

While we’re incredibly sad to see her go, we’re also so excited for her as she begins a new chapter. We know she’ll be amazing wherever life takes her next.
