That sports drink after a workout is doing more than hydrating you. πββοΈπ₯€
Sports drinks contain sugar AND food acids. Both damage your teeth in different ways:
π¬ DECAY: Sugar feeds mouth bacteria. Bacteria makes acid. Acid eats your enamel. Holes form.
π§ͺ EROSION: Acids dissolve the surface of your teeth, weakening them and wearing them down.
The fix doesn't have to mean cutting sports drinks completely. Try this:
β
Drink water instead when you can
β
Never swish the drink around your mouth
β
Rinse with water after every sports drink
β
Wait 30 mins BEFORE brushing your teeth
π¬ What's your go-to drink during or after exercise?
π Swap one sports drink for water this week. Your teeth will notice.
