A - Yes, bleaching products do work! However, before you think of trying one, it is recommended that you consult your dentist. They will recommend the right brand to use and make sure there are no existing issues going on.

🦷 Have you accidentally knocked a tooth out? 🦷

Make sure to follow these steps:

1 - Handle the tooth only by the crown (the whiter enamel you see visible in the mouth).
2 - Pick it up and clean it. The best place is actually inside the victims own mouth if they are conscious, capable and won't swallow it! Otherwise it can be carefully rinsed in milk - not water!
3 - Either carefully wiggle the tooth back into position in the mouth and hold it there on your way to see Dr Jest, or keep it moist in some milk.

Come see us immediately after the accident for re-implantation, we will always prioritise trauma patients and see them as soon as possible!

Eleanor Cox has worked at Dr Martin Jest Dental Surgery since July 2004 as a Senior Dental Assistant.

Dr Martin and his wife, Bronwyn, are having a wonderful time on their overseas trip to England. Here they are on a beautiful 5.5 hour hike up Kinder Scout in the Peak District. 🏞️⛰️

Q - Should I use waxed or unwaxed dental floss?

A - It's up to you! What matters is that you use it the right way. When you floss correctly, all the food particles that cannot be removed by your toothbrush will be removed with the floss.
