It is our great pleasure to introduce our lovely new oral health therapist, Natashia Castles or Tash, as we affectionately call her. Patty and I have known her for 15 years and we all used to work together at another practice in Canberra and we are truly blessed that the trio have (finally!) reunited at Dickson Modern Dental. She is also a true born-and-bred Canberra hero. She upholds the high standard of patient care that we are renowned for with the enthusiasm, patience and gentle touch to make every visit something to smile about.

She is here on Monday to Thursday and Saturday, and we can’t wait for you to meet her!

For five years in a row, we are in the THREE BEST RATED Dentist/Dental Practice in Canberra and it is an honour to be chosen alongside other fantastic dentists, Dr. Scott Park and Dr. Miranda Sageman.

We hope that we at Dickson Modern Dental can continue to provide the high standard service that we have maintained for in the past seven years to the community.

We are deeply honoured to be one of the three small dental practices chosen to be part of the Defence Health Dental Network in the ACT. This means that most Defence Health members are entitled to up to 2 FREE check up, clean and fluoride treatments per financial year (depending on your level of cover, so please check with Defence Health). This also entitles Defence Health members to discounted prices on most other dental treatment, including x-rays, fillings and root canal therapy.

No excuses now that you are too busy to have your teeth checked and cleaned, because we are now open 7 days a week!

Our opening hours are now:
- Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm
- Saturday between 9am to 2pm
- Sunday between 9am to 12pm

Good evening to you and hope you are all safe and well,

There is finally light at the end of the tunnel and we have all done very well.

From the ACT Government, on the ACT's COVID-19 Pathway Forward document ((https://www.covid19.act.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0007/1861621/ACTs-Pathway-Forward-270921.pdf), as of Friday 1st of October "All dental services can be undertaken, including preventive services", such as check up and clean.

Therefore, we welcome you all back and will do our best to fit everyone that had their appointments postponed during the lockdown to be seen as soon as conveniently possible.

Good evening to Our Endeared Patients,

We hope you are all safe and well.

Despite these tough circumstances, we are currently still open and allowed to be open during this lockdown, even if the lockdown is extended. We are deferring elective treatment. We can still see you, if you believe you may have an issue that could be a problem in the imminent future, i.e. within the next few months.

This is an official statement from the Australian Dental Association NSW Branch:

"In response to an identified positive COVID-19 case in Canberra over recent days, the ACT will enter a seven-day lockdown...

To comply with these new measures, all ACT dental practitioners should take a risk-based approach to deferring dental care with a view to reducing movement of people in the community. During this time, dental practitioners must exercise their clinical judgement to determine that dental services are limited to patients with urgent needs, or where failure to provide care in a clinically appropriate timeframe will lead to adverse outcomes."

Dear Valued Patients of Dickson Modern Dental,

As Australia is doing quite well with COVID, as of Tuesday 28th April, the Australian Dental Association have now allowed for dentists to perform more elective dental procedures, such as check-up, cleans, fluoride application and orthodontic treatment (though there are some conditions that go along with certain procedures).

For those who are scheduled for their 6 month check up and clean for May and do not feel comfortable with coming in under current circumstances, we completely understand and can certainly defer the appointment for a month or so and reassess the COVID situation then.

We now welcome any new patients that would like to come in for a check up and clean.

Hope you are all doing as well as you can and hope to see you all soon sometime in the near future.

Dearest Patients of Dickson Modern Dental,

I hope you are all doing as well as possible, during these unprecedented times. It does look quite promising and we are quite proud of how Canberra/Queanbeyan are currently doing. However, primarily due to the COVID situation, we have eased back on our opening hours and days. We are no longer open on Sunday and no longer opening after hours.

We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your time and support.
