What is oral cancer?
Oral cancer is any type of cancer that develops in the tissues of the mouth. It can occur in any part of the mouth, including the lips, gums, tongue, inner cheeks, roof or floor of the mouth. Oral cancer can spread quickly to other parts of the body if not detected early, making it crucial to get regular oral cancer screenings.
The symptoms of oral cancer may include:
• A sore that does not heal
• Red or white patches in the mouth
• Pain or difficulty swallowing
• A lump or thickening in the cheek
• A persistent sore throat
• Numbness in the tongue or other parts of the mouth
• A change in the way your teeth fit together
Who is at risk for oral cancer?

• Those who consume alcohol heavily
