❄️ KEEPING YOUR DOG HAPPY & HEALTHY THIS GOLD COAST WINTER 🐾
We might not get freezing winters on the Gold Coast, but the cooler mornings and shorter days can still affect our dogs more than people realise!
Here are a few simple ways to keep your pup feeling their best this winter:
🐶 Keep up regular exercise
Cooler weather is actually perfect for many dogs to stay active without overheating. Regular walks, daycare play and enrichment help keep joints healthy and energy levels balanced.
🧠 Don’t let boredom sneak in
When routines change, dogs can become restless at home. Training games, social interaction and mental enrichment are just as important as physical exercise.
🛏️ Give them a cosy place to rest
Even on the Gold Coast, some dogs, especially puppies, seniors and short coated breeds love having a warm comfy spot to recharge.
💧 Keep an eye on water intake
Dogs often drink less in cooler weather, so make sure fresh water is always available.
🐾 Maintain social interaction
Regular interaction with other dogs and people helps build confidence and keeps dogs mentally fulfilled year round.
Winter is honestly one of the best times for dogs to enjoy being active here on the Coast… fewer scorching hot footpaths and far less “I walked outside and immediately regretted it” moments. 😂
