Beautiful morning on the beach watching my kids surf before some little ones caught up with me.

In theatre this afternoon and back tomorrow morning. Christmas and holidays invite fun, different circumstances and accidents. We love helping kids. Oh don't get me wrong, I also loved getting on the beach this morning.

There is nothing worse than a dental emergency to upset the festivities.

This year Dr Kylie will be on the Sunshine Coast and available to help. Please call her mobile number 0411 563 222 and she will get back to you as soon as she can.

Please be sure to include photos. Able to access phone consultations, treatment under nitrous oxide sedation, and treatment under general anaesthetic at Buderim Private Hospital.

Fees will apply for all call outs.

A week of gratitude. Today I popped into to get some uniforms for next year. It was so lovely to be gifted a box of Christmas cookies and to be thanked for supporting the school.

I am grateful to all our wonderful families and referring practitioners who entrust us with care.

In turn we have supported the following at BMSS this year:

🎈 😇 Chappy Alexia of BMSS in her endeavours to help families and children within the school community, bringing everyone together with her contagious spirit.

🎈 🤖 BMSS Circuit Crew, who have made it to the Asia Pacific Championships of the Lego League next year in Sydney. That will be the third year in a row that they have achieved this phenomenal result.

🎈 BMSS Sesquicentennial celebrations this year. That big word means 150 year celebration. That was a phenomenal event organised by the P & C. Such a great time to be a student at the school and see all the amazing history firsthand.

Without our supporters we wouldn't be able to give so generously. We love and appreciate that we can help these wonderful causes.

It's certainly beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

For those kids with appointments from Tuesday until we close for Christmas, you will get to draw a bauble from Santa's sack at the end of your visit. If it a gold bauble we will give you a card with a $20 Coles Myer gift voucher. Who is feeling lucky?

We have some limited slots beteeen now and Christmas to maximise your use of CDBS benefits or health fund benefits before they expire.

We will close for Christmas break from the afternoon of Friday 19 December and return to work the first week of January.

We sincerely thank all of our amazing patients and parents for a wonderful year. Dr Kylie has been to many conferences this year ensuring we provide the highest quality of care to all our patients. Most recently she has undertaken paediatric hypnosis training with NPHTI (from USA) in Auckland. This can only strengthen our nonsurgical approaches for our many patients.

They need input before 17 Sep. Please share with colleagues. This is a great project for them and I would love for it to be successful for them.

It's dental health week and no better time to reinforce the need to learn about caring for your child's teeth. Please make it a priority.

The first tooth is a huge milestone and should be a motivating factor to start seeking out a dental consultation. The first visit is not a ride in the chair. The first visit is one of the most important health visits your child could attend.

There are so many factors that contribute to the risk of developing decay for children. Early access to care is the only way to prevent decay and expensive treatment.

For children, eligible for the CDBS funding, it can be used from birth. Some practices bulk bill, we are currently bulk billing baby visits for children who are under 18 months of age for their first visit. The most important thing is to be seen, and the sooner the better. It is heartbreaking to be constantly trying to fix things when things don't need to get so out of hand.

We will always prioritise prevention ahead of a general anaesthetic.
