My best skin at 35 didn’t come from one magic treatment. It came from consistency.

Last year, my skin was genuinely the best it had ever been, better than I remember it being at 25.

The biggest change wasn’t doing more. It was getting much better at doing the things I know work for me consistently.

I even booked a full year of appointments in advance, because I know exactly what happens otherwise. Life gets busy, time disappears and suddenly that appointment I was “definitely going to book next month” was 12 months ago.

My skincare, skin treatments and preventative care all have their place, but so do my fitness, nutrition, sleep and mindset.

There’s nothing particularly revolutionary about it. I made a plan, put it in the calendar and kept showing up for it.

And I think that applies to a lot more than just skin.

This is my personal routine, not a treatment recommendation. Treatment needs, suitability and results vary between individuals.

“I don’t like flossing. What’s the alternative?
Look… you might not love my answer.

Flossing isn’t exactly the most exciting part of anyone’s day, but cleaning between your teeth is an important part of looking after your gums and helping keep your natural teeth healthy for the long term.

A couple of minutes now. Your future teeth will be glad you did.

And if traditional floss and you are simply not going to become friends, ask us. There may be other ways to clean between your teeth that are better suited to you.

The goal isn’t to love flossing. It’s to love keeping your teeth.

What if "one day" was just... your Tuesday?

That's what I am so grateful I get to experience from turquoise water on my weekends, and a clinic I'm building into something bigger than a chair and a drill.

I'm not the same person who bought this business, and I'm not looking for the same team I would've hired back then either. I want people who back themselves, raise the bar, and want to build something, for our patients, for each other, for this incredible stretch of coastline we get to call home!

If that's you, I'd love to talk. Win for you, win for the team, win for this whole town.

Come work where other people holiday 🌴

One of the biggest things I’ve learnt as a business owner is that making time for your team has to be intentional.

When I first bought the practice, I was so busy working in it and treating patients all day that most team conversations happened in the hallway, squeezed somewhere between appointments.

These days, we have dedicated monthly check-ins with every team member. It gives us the space to talk properly, make sure people feel supported, know what’s expected of them and have the opportunity to raise what they need.

It’s one of many things we’ve introduced as DNTL Code has grown, because I’ve learnt that a great culture doesn’t just happen. You have to keep investing in it.

It was incredibly special to have that recognised recently when DNTL Code received the Workplace Culture & Inclusivity Award at the Broome Business Excellence Awards.

There are so many different pieces that contribute to the culture we have today, and it’s something our whole team plays a part in building every day.

For me, a great culture is a team that genuinely cares about what they do, loves to continue raising the bar, supports each other and can still have a really good laugh together.

Building the business is rewarding. Building it with good people is what makes it special.

A little BTS of me in DNTL Code while we wait for a patient’s new denture to make its way back from the lab. I’m making a few chair-side adjustments to their existing one to help keep things as comfortable as possible in the meantime.

The portable extraction unit lets me make those adjustments right there in the surgery, capturing the fine particles while I work and keeping our space clean.

It’s one of those pieces of technology that makes the little jobs easier, cleaner and more efficient.

Whatever stage of treatment you’re at, we’ll always do what we can to make your care as comfortable as possible along the way.

Dentistry wasn’t always the plan. But looking back, it makes a lot of sense that I ended up here.

I wanted a career that was hands-on, centred around people, and gave me the chance to build genuine relationships while making a difference to their health.

What I didn’t expect was how much I’d fall in love with everything that happens around the dentistry too. Building a team. Creating something from an idea. Finding better ways of doing things. Raising the standard of what healthcare can look and feel like regionally. And continually growing into the person capable of leading what comes next.

I still genuinely love being in the surgery and looking after my patients. But somewhere along the way, dentistry became the starting point for something much bigger than I ever imagined.

I didn’t have this whole journey mapped out when I chose dentistry. I’m actually pretty glad I didn’t.

Hi, I’m Steph, dentist, business owner and founder of .code.

I’ve always believed that choosing to live regionally shouldn’t mean choosing between convenience and quality when it comes to healthcare.

DNTL Code grew from that belief. What started as a dental clinic has evolved into something much bigger: a team, a vision and a place where we can continue bringing more high-quality care to Broome and our wider regional communities.

There’s been plenty of learning, problem-solving and growing along the way, and we’re still only getting started. I’ll be sharing more of what happens behind the scenes as we keep building DNTL Code, one decision, lesson and big idea at a time.

24/09/2026

When we designed the new DNTL Code, it wasn’t just about how the space would look. It was about how people would feel in it.

Healthcare can come with a lot to take in. Options, costs, timing and decisions that sometimes need a little space to process.

That’s why we created dedicated treatment coordinator offices: a comfortable place to ask questions, understand your options and feel supported in deciding what’s right for you.

Because great care isn’t about telling people what to do. It’s about giving them the clarity and confidence to make informed decisions about their own health.

Looking for somewhere you can grow, contribute and make an impact?

At .code, we’re building a team of people who care deeply, think ahead, take ownership and want to keep getting better at what they do.

If that sounds like you, take a look at our current opportunities in Broome. Your next chapter might just start here.

Our first two patients through the doors of the new clinic.

Gary has been a supporter, mentor and champion of not only me, but so many people and businesses across the Kimberley over the years. And naturally, he dressed up for the occasion.

And Luke. Luke was actually my patient back in my Karratha days, long before either of us knew we’d both end up in Broome. Since then he’s built an incredible local business Red and recently restored my car after our dog’s collar somehow managed to rip out my reverse sensor wiring!

One of the greatest joys of practising in a regional town isn’t just the people you meet. It’s the relationships you build along the way.

Patients become part of your community. Your community becomes part of your life.

A few weeks into our new space, the boxes are disappearing, the team is settling in, and it’s starting to feel a little less like a move and a little more like home.
. Now we’re all waiting for the to catch up.

Thank you for your patience while we navigate a few behind-the-scenes connection issues with phones and software. Hopefully today is the day someone finally finds the magic switch. 🤞🏼
