🦷🍭 Wacky Fact Wednesday! 🍭🦷

Did you know… a dentist helped invent the machine that made cotton candy widely available?! 🤯

Back in 1897, dentist Dr. William Morrison teamed up with confectioner John C. Wharton to create an electric machine that spun sugar into those fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth strands we now know as cotton candy.

They originally called it “Fairy Floss” and debuted it at the 1904 World’s Fair, where thousands of boxes were sold! 🎡🍬

So the next time you enjoy some cotton candy, remember… a dentist had a hand in making it possible! 😂

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Dental Assistant to join our friendly dental practice on a casual basis!

About the Role
You will support our dentists in providing high-quality patient care in a busy and welcoming environment.

Duties include:
-Chairside assisting during procedures
-Sterilisation and infection control
-Patient preparation and aftercare
-Maintaining a clean and organised surgery

Requirements
Previous experience as a dental assistant preferred
On-the-job training and support available for the right candidate
Excellent communication skills and a caring, professional manner
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced team
Available for flexible casual shifts
7am start availability

Happy Friday Everyone!

We have a new dentist who has joined our practice!

Dr George Chen has had a long history of working to bring a better smile to people and communities from all corners of Queensland.

Dr George has joined the Experteeth Group after his adventures as part of the RFDS Dental Service for the past few years, and had also previously worked as a dentist in multiple public and private roles.

He has provided care in a wide range of locations, Mossman to the north, Dajarra to the West, and everywhere in between for the past 15 years.

Dr George had completed his dental training in University of Queensland and has a strong focus on providing a comfortable and soothing environment for his patients, from the very young children on their first visit to the dentist, to the wise and young at heart enjoying their retirement years.

He believes in working with his patients to achieve a whiter smile and a healthier mouth and ensuring that everyone’s experience in his care is a positive one.

Beyond dentistry, Dr George is a huge fan of exploring hiking trails with friends and family and enjoying cool swims especially on hot days.
