A little reminder for our patients with health fund extras.

Many health funds reset their annual extras limits on 1 January, so any dental benefits you haven't used this year may not cary over. It's worth checking with your fund to see what you have left.

If you've been thinking about a check-up and a clean, or treatment you've been meaning to get done, now is a great time to book in before the festive season gets busy. That way you won't miss the chance to use your benefits before your annual extra limits reset.

I little behind the scenes excitement at our practice today.

The first of our three new dental chairs is being installed.

Our original chairs have been with us since we opened our doors in 2007 and have served us well for almost 20 years. It is lovely to be giving all three rooms a fresh start, with patient comfort and up to date technology in mind.

The Ekka is back and celebrating 150 years. We can hardly believe it has been that long!

We will be closed on Wednesday 12 August for the Brisbane Show Holiday, giving our team a chance to enjoy the day too.

We will reopen as normal on Thursday 13 August and look forward seeing you then.

Flossing is the step many people skip, so if that sounds like you, you're not alone.

Your toothbrush does a great job cleaning the surfaces of your teeth, but it can't reach the tight spaces in between, where plaque likes to build up.

Flossing once a day can make a real difference to your gum health over time. Even a quick floss before bed is a great place to start.

If you've never quite got the hang of it, ask Allie or one of our hygienists. They are always happy to show you an easy way.

Monday mornings are a little brighter with a colourful spread in our staff room.

Crunchy vegetables like carrots, cucumber and capsicum are a fresh and friendly choice for your teeth. Chewing them helps stimulate saliva, and there is no aded sugar hiding in there. Berries and tomatoes round out platter with some extra colour and flavour.

Life is busy, and accidents happen, especially with active kids and weekend sport.

If an adult tooth is knocked out, or a piece breaks off, place it in a small container of milk or saliva if milk isn't handy, and call us straight away. If it is a baby tooth, please don't try to put it back in. Contact us as soon as you can.

Dr Tim, Dr Kurt, Dr Paul and our team are here to help you or your child feel reassured and get things sorted quickly. If you're unsure what to do, give us a call on 07 3354 1077. We're always happy to help.
