At Speedental, caring for patients with additional or complex needs has been part of who we are for over 40 years!✨

Throughout this time, Dr Speed has formed genuine friendships with many of our special needs patients, their families and support teams. They aren't simply appointments in our books - they become part of the Speedental family and are always treated with patience, compassion, dignity and respect.

Dr Simon is also proud to provide care for our special needs patients, continuing the compassionate and individualised approach that has been so important to Speedental for many years. Together, Dr Speed and Dr Simon work closely with each patient to ensure their care is carefully planned around their individual needs.

For some patients living with an intellectual or physical disability, receiving dental treatment in the chair may not be suitable. General anaesthetic makes it possible to complete important dental treatment that may otherwise be difficult for them to receive.

We're excited to welcome a familiar face back to our front desk at the end of August and we are looking for another friendly face to join the Speedental team!🦷

This varied role involves working across reception and the dental surgery, so dental experience is essential and basic reception skills are preferred.

You don't need to know everything from day one - we will be here to help you find your feet.

Your toothbrush should be replaced around every 3 months or sooner if the bristles become worn or frayed.

For a healthier smile, brush for 2 minutes, twice a day, using a fluoride toothpaste. And remember: brushing harder isn't better - use gentle pressure and let the bristles do the work.

Last week our Speedental team hit pause on dentistry and brushed up on our First Aid and CPR skills! 🚑🩹❤️‍🩹

A big thank you to Tanya from LinkCPR for delivering such a fun, engaging, and informative training session. There were plenty of laughs, lots of hands-on practice, and we're happy to report that all the "patients" survived!😁

At Speedental, we're committed to keeping our skills up to date so we can provide a safe environment for our patients and our team. While we hope we never need to put these skills to the test, it's reassuring to know we're prepared if the unexpected happens.

Great collaborating with Dr Anthony Speed and the team at speedental to provide coordinated care for a patient with complex needs.

By working together, we were able to complete podiatry treatment during the patient’s scheduled dental procedure under general anaesthetic - helping minimise multiple procedures and appointments.

Thanks to the entire speedental team for the seamless teamwork. 👣

🚀 Big things are happening at the practice! 🦷✨

We're giving our systems a glow-up and making the move to Dental4Web! 💻🎉

To help make the transition as smooth as possible, our practice will be closed to patient appointments on Monday 6th July 2026 while we complete the changeover.

📞 Don't worry – we'll still have a friendly team member available to answer the phones, so if you have a dental emergency or need to get in touch, we're here for you.

We'll be back to our usual smiles and normal trading hours from 7:30am–5:00pm on Tuesday.
