As many of his patients know, Dr Garraway will be away from work in the near term while working through the logistics from the fire which claimed his house. He and his family are safe and well cared for, but anybody wishing to help or contribute can contact our reception at wdg for further information. We all wish Stu well with the recovery and look forward to welcoming him back.

This amazing refurbish job was completed in tandem with regular business hours. The client was able to remain open for all bar two days of the 4-week fit out duration.

Thank you to our patients and to the community for the support and effort! Every little contribution makes a difference....

COVID – 19

We are currently working under Level 1 practice restrictions which allows us to offer almost all of our usual dental treatments.

There are still a few differences from business as usual.

Who we can see

We are unable to treat patients who have respiratory symptoms or fever and are also in a risk group for contact with COVID-19. If you are uncertain about whether you fall into this category, please ask our reception staff who will be able to discuss alternative treatment options for you.

If you have respiratory symptoms and do not fall into a COVID-19 risk category, we suggest deferring treatment which is non-urgent until you are well.

Social distancing and infection control

You will notice some changes in our reception area. To ensure we all maintain appropriate social distancing, magazines and toys are not available and indoor seating is more sparse. Some outdoor seating is also available, or if you prefer, you can wait in your car and we can call or text you when your appointment is ready.

Office hours

Throughout the COVID-19 crisis our office hours have altered slightly. We are currently operating under our usual opening hours, but this may change over time. Please check online for current opening hours.

We appreciate that not everyone will be comfortable coming in to the practice while social distancing, for those patients we will endeavour to help you maintain your dental health until we are back to normal. For those who choose to attend or who need to come in for an urgent problem, alongside our normal high standard of infection control, we have put in place additional measures to keep staff and patients safe.

For patients with appointments already booked, our team will be in touch beforehand with up to date information and to discuss whether you are comfortable coming in.

Our online booking service remains inactive at this time

COVID - 19

Due to the COVID-19 crisis our office hours and the range of treatments we offer have been temporarily limited. Our phones are currently open Monday to Saturday from 8am. We may not be in the office all day, so please try and call before 11am. These hours will change over time, so please check www.wilstondentalgroup.com.au for current information.

The majority of dental problems can be treated safely under the current practice restrictions as well as a modified version of your regular dental checkup.

COVID - 19

Due to the COVID-19 crisis our office hours and the range of treatments we offer have been temporarily limited. Our phones are currently open Monday to Saturday from 8am until 11am. This may change over time, so please check www.wilstondentalgroup.com.au for current information.

During this time, treatment offered will be limited to urgent dental problems and involve telephone consultations, pain relief and temporary or provisional treatments. We may also ask you to take photographs of your dental problem so that we can gain a better understanding of whether it requires a trip to the dentist.

While this is not the ideal way to provide dentistry, we are confident we can keep our patients in reasonable dental health until practice restrictions are eased.

For patients with appointments already booked, our team will be in touch beforehand with up to date information. Phone messages and email will be monitored daily except Sundays. Our online booking service will be inactive during this time.

COVID - 19

Due to the COVID-19 crisis it is with regret that we have had to temporarily close our doors until further notice.

This extremely difficult decision was made to protect our patients, our staff and our community and to give us the best chance to re-open and continue our professional and dedicated care to you on the other side of this pandemic.
All patients with appointments up until 1st May should already have been contacted. For patients with appointments after this time, our team will be in touch beforehand with up to date information.

Phone messages and email will be monitored every few days for general communication with the practice, but please do not leave urgent messages via email or our regular phone number.

Our online booking service will be inactive during this time.

COVID-19 Update

26/3/20

As of 23rd March, we have been moved to level 2 restrictions of practice*. This means that for the time being, non-urgent dental treatment should be deferred until later in the year. Urgent dental treatment can still be performed, but may need to be carried out in a different manner (for example, using temporary materials which can be placed more safely).

Wilston Dental Group will still be available for emergency treatment Monday to Saturday. If you have a dental emergency, please our staff on 07 3356 5352 call in the morning if possible. Online bookings will be suspended until services return to normal.

We’d like to thank our patients for bearing with us during these trying times. As we’ve all experienced, every new day brings new information and changes to our lifestyle. We will endeavour to keep our patients informed here and directly where required by email or phone.

If you have flu-like symptoms, have had contact with a suspected carrier of COVID-19 or if you or members of your household have travelled overseas within the last 14 days, and you have an urgent dental problem, please contact our staff for advice by phone on 07 3356 5352. Alternatively, you can contact the Australian Government Department of Health Coronavirus Hotline on 1800 202 080 or Queensland Department of Health 13 432 584.

Implications for Infection Control
Our stringent infection control protocols will remain unchanged. Although COVID-19 has impacted the availability of surgical masks worldwide, we are well stocked at present and will, if necessary, have access to emergency supply via the Australian Dental Association. Wilston Dental Group is an accredited practice which means we maintain, and are assessed upon, the highest standards. Our infection control procedures are designed to keep you safe from cross contamination and, as always, we take our infection control measures very seriously and adhere always to best practice.
