A great morning at the Bernborough Ascot Community Expo.

Dr Ava and our team enjoyed connecting with the local community and being part of such a well-run event alongside other local businesses.

Events like these are a great way to share information about oral health, answer questions, and be accessible outside of the clinic setting.

Congratulations to Dennis, our giveaway winner on the day.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat.

This case involved restoring worn, chipped, and structurally compromised front teeth using a carefully planned restorative approach.

Treatment focused on improving function, protecting the remaining tooth structure, and achieving a natural appearance that fits the patient’s overall smile.

This week marks an exciting milestone for our team — Arete Dental Studio has reached 250+ Google reviews!

Behind every review is a patient who trusted us with their health, and that trust is something we never take lightly.

Dentistry is never one-size-fits-all. Every smile is different, and every treatment plan should be carefully tailored to the individual. Our focus is always on evidence-based care, modern digital technology, and thoughtful treatment planning that supports long-term oral health.

Thank you for being part of the Arete journey.

Not all floss is created equal — and how you use it matters just as much.

Tape floss — smooth and flat, ideal if your teeth are tight together.
Fibrous string floss — slightly thicker, great for cleaning broader gaps or under bridges.
Floss picks — convenient on the go, but may not curve well around each tooth.

Flossing once a day is ideal. Doing it before brushing helps remove plaque and food first, letting your toothpaste fluoride reach more surfaces and protect your enamel more effectively.

Whatever your choice, the best floss is the one you’ll actually use daily. Each technique removes plaque where your toothbrush can’t reach, helping prevent gum inflammation, decay, and bad breath.

Curious which type suits your smile best? Ask us at your next check-up.

Abfraction lesions are those small V-shaped notches that appear near the gumline. They’re not just a cosmetic mark — they often form because the tooth flexes under heavy functional load. Clenching, grinding or uneven bite forces can place stress at the neck of the tooth, gradually creating a groove.

They’re different from abrasion (usually heavy brushing) and erosion (acid wear), though all three can overlap. Abrasion tends to look smoother and more shallow, while erosion leaves enamel softened, glossy or thinned.

Common contributors include:
• Clenching or grinding
• Night-time bruxism
• Bite imbalance or heavy load on certain teeth
• Over-brushing
• Acidic diets or low saliva (erosion)

These lesions can lead to sensitivity, plaque retention and progressive wear. Management depends on the underlying cause — sometimes it’s bite adjustments, bruxism management, brushing technique changes, diet support, or restoring the defect to protect the tooth. Suitability, risks and alternatives vary for each person.

Curious whether a gumline notch is abfraction, abrasion, erosion or a mix? Ask us at your next visit — we’ll assess what’s most appropriate for your case.

Crowding doesn’t just affect how your smile looks — it can change the way your bite functions, how your teeth wear over time, and how easily you can keep them clean.

This case shows a full upper arch alignment where gentle, precise movement restored harmony in both function and form.

Every smile is different — the right approach depends on your bite, bone support, and growth pattern. Results vary. Suitability, risks, and alternatives are always assessed individually.

Curious whether aligner treatment could help bring your bite into balance? Ask us at your next visit.
