Happy 1 year, Nooshin! 🥳

We recently celebrated Nooshin’s first work anniversary, and were so busy enjoying the cake that we forgot to take a photo. So here’s a little collection from her first year with us instead.

Nooshin is one of our dental assistants and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team. She’s dedicated, always cheerful, and manages to keep things fun while staying completely focused on her work. We love having her on the team.

How many appointments do cosmetic dental treatments take?

It depends on the treatment:

Teeth whitening — collect your kit in 2 appointments, then whiten at home over 4–6 weeks.

Composite bonding — usually 1 appointment but can be split over 2 if many teeth involved.

Porcelain veneers — typically 2–3 appointments over 2–3 weeks.

A full smile makeover combining multiple treatments — we plan this carefully to minimise your time in the chair.

What can go wrong with dental implants? It's a fair question — and one we always answer honestly. 🦷

Implant failure is rare but it does happen. The most common cause is peri-implantitis — inflammation and infection around the implant, similar to gum disease around a natural tooth. It's why daily cleaning and regular check-ups matter just as much after an implant as before. Smoking increases the risk, and insufficient bone volume can affect how well the implant integrates.

The best way to protect your investment is to choose an experienced dentist, follow post-operative instructions carefully, and maintain excellent oral hygiene long-term.

Composite bonding or veneers - how do you know which one you need? 🦷

Bonding uses tooth-coloured resin applied directly to your tooth - no lab work, often done in one visit, and reversible. Veneers involve a thin porcelain layer - more durable and stain-resistant, but they need a small amount of enamel removed and lab input.

Neither is automatically the better option - it depends on your teeth, your goals and your budget.
