About one in five Australians have moderate-to-severe gum disease. This is concerning because it’s one of the most common inflammatory diseases that affect humans. It’s even more concerning when you consider the potential impact of diabetes and smoking on oral health.

This is a crucial connection that deserves attention.

If you’re about to get joint surgery, the last thing you might be thinking about is your teeth. But did you know that oral health issues can be directly linked to problems arising during joint surgery?

For patients planning joint surgery, this connection becomes even more important.
Bacteria from the mouth can enter the bloodstream and potentially infect the surgical site. This can lead to serious complications, including implant failure.
Sharing the surgical date with your dentist is also important: to ensure correct timing of future dental appointments.

Keeping your mouth healthy reduces the risk of these issues. Regular brushing, flossing, and dental check-ups are important.

Guidelines from the FDI World Dental Federation state that the average person should brush their teeth for two minutes. The good news is a good portion of people do attempt to brush their teeth for that long. However, when we’re not being timed, we tend to underestimate how long we’re brushing.

Our top tips:
1. Use Fluoride Toothpaste
2. Brush Twice a Day
3. Tooth Brush Recommendations (softer bristles, brushing in circles)

Our Story

After having grown up in a family of dentists, I learnt one very important lesson about practicing dentistry in a way that serves the patients best interest first; after that, everything else is an accessory. So when I took over an existing and respected practice, I wanted to ensure that these same values were applied to the patients in my care. I had a vision that a dental environment can and should be warm, caring and friendly; and most importantly, approachable. One that delivers quality dental care that is truly focused on putting the well being of our patients first, and treats both staff and patients with an even and high level of understanding and respect.

Fast forward to today and The Bondi Dentists team could not reflect this culture better. Every person in this photo shares the same core values. We are here to look after the best interests of our team and our patients. The commonality amongst us is the warmth we all share, we are less of a dental team, and more like a working family. We don’t see our relationships with our patients as top-down and hierarchical; instead it is an inclusive atmosphere, where our team and practitioners relate to each other on a level field and the same goes with our approach to our patients.

Our working environment has an enthusiastic and positive take on providing dental services. We enjoy learning from each-other, not only professionally, but culturally from the diverse backgrounds we all come from.

It is a pleasure to work amongst and service such great people. We look forward to continuing on our journey; building stronger relationships with each-other and our patients, and always giving everyone the care they deserve.
