Six freehand composite veneers were placed after this patient had just completed her orthodontic journey. She was missing two front teeth so her
canine teeth were moved forward. With conservative composite bonding, we were then able to create a more even and harmonious appearance in both contour and colour. The metal plates seen were used with the braces and will be removed next.

Smile transformation
This patient came to us with a history of a childhood dental trauma; fractured teeth that had been repaired by bonding the broken fragments years earlier, with now visible repair lines. Her plan going in was based on advice from years ago - crowns for 2 front teeth.
Instead, we took a more conservative path. By carefully repositioning the affected teeth, we were able to minimise the amount of natural tooth structure removed during preparation — preserving as much of her own enamel and tooth strength as possible.
Treatment combined:
Invisalign — to correct tipping and rotations
Teeth whitening
Ceramic veneers
Composite bonding
The result: a smile that’s both functionally aligned and aesthetically transformed and achieved with a less invasive approach than originally forecast all those years ago.

My patients know that I’m always keen to treat their oral health holistically in tandem with their general health.
So enjoyed this seminar, with some fascinating and relevant presentations from eminent medical specialists and GPs. I’ve helped several of my male patients with oral appliances for snoring and sleep apnoea, but there is a notable increase in sleep apnoea and sleep disorders in women during perimenopause which may go unnoticed and untreated, contributing to brain fog, anxiety and increased cardiovascular risk.

Composite bonding after orthodontic treatment to mask missing lateral incisors

This patient was referred by an orthodontic colleague towards the end of orthodontic treatment to plan the final tooth shapes, as several adult teeth were congenitally absent.
Digital scans and photographs were used to design the final tooth proportions with our dental technician. A 3D printed model helped guide the restorative phase once orthodontic treatment was complete.
Composite bonding was then used to reshape the teeth and restore the final proportions.
Composite bonding is a minimally invasive technique that allows tooth structure to be added without removing natural enamel.

This smile was achieved using a combination of Invisalign treatment and conservative composite bonding.

Invisalign allowed for careful alignment of the teeth, while bonding was used to restore worn edges and improve overall balance, with a focus on maintaining a natural appearance.
