Dental Restrictions Removed

We are very pleased to announce that the Federal Government, together with the Australian Dental Association has lifted restrictions on dental services to Level 1.
This means we can once again perform all dental treatments (examinations, cleans, general & cosmetic dentistry) that we would normally do and we are back to full hours of operation.
Under Level 1 we will continue to:
• screen patients for Covid-19
• operate under stringent clinical infection control
standards
• practice social distancing in the waiting room
• continue enhanced environmental cleaning
If you have an appointment and become unwell with any respiratory symptoms (runny nose, sore throat, cough, fever, shortness of breath) we ask that you contact the practice to defer treatment until you are well again.
We look forward to seeing you all again!
Alex

Update on Covid-19

To all of our valued patients,

From all the team at Alex Bratic Dental Care we wish you all the best during the unfolding Covid-19 Pandemic. These are uncertain times and we would like to inform you all about the current situation for Dental Practices as at March 31st 2020.

All dental practices have now been advised to operate on Level 3 Restrictions. Essentially this means we can provide only LIMITED treatment for relief of pain and ALL routine dental work must be deferred until the worst of the pandemic has passed. General dental practices are NOT capable of treating anyone with Covid-19 and these people will be referred to specially equipped government clinics for emergency treatment only.

Working under Level 3 Restrictions, we will continue to operate under strict infection control protocols established by the Australian Dental Association. In addition to extra clinical infection control procedures, we have implemented a raft of additional measures to ensure the safety of both patients and staff.
These include:
•Offering for you to wait in your car, rather than the reception area. A staff member will ring you when Alex is ready to see you
•Additional time allocated between appointments to minimise the number of people in the waiting room and to allow for further cleaning both inside the surgery as well as the bathroom and reception area
*Spaced single seating areas in the waiting room

•Removal of reading materials and toys from the waiting area

Due to the limited nature of the treatment that can be performed we will be operating under significantly reduced hours helping our existing patients with problems that cannot be deferred.

While our surgery is unattended you can contact us on (07) 3287 2627 by leaving a message on the answering machine. A staff member will return your call as soon as possible (during office hours.)

Alex

Notice for patients regarding Covid-19

To the very important patients of Alex Bratic Dental Care
At Alex Bratic Dental Care your health and safety is our first priority. We want to reassure you, during this time of uncertainty and concern with the Coronavirus (Covid-19) that we have carefully considered our role in preventing the spread of the virus and hope to ease any concerns about visiting the dentist.

Our practice will continue to operate under strict infection control protocols based on Australian Standards, and guidelines established by the Australian Dental Association. In addition to our high clinical standards we have made a few changes in view of the increasing concern and changes caused by the Coronavirus (Covid-19).

These include:
• Increased cleaning of high touch areas such as door k***s, reception areas and the bathroom
• Hand sanitizer at the reception desk which we encourage you to use
• Removal of reading materials and toys from the waiting area
• Alternatively, offering for you to wait in your car, rather than the reception area. A staff member will ring you when the dentists Alex or Kim are ready to see you

Importantly, we request that if you are feeling unwell with any cold or flu like symptoms (fever, cough, runny nose, headache, gastrointestinal upset) that you please call reception on 3287 2627 and reschedule your dental appointment (and seek medical advice) until you have fully recovered.

We wish all of our patient’s good health during this time.

Dental X-rays for children are essential to detect any issues hidden underneath the surface of the teeth enamel or below the gum line.

But because X-rays utilise radiation, many parents have worries about whether they are safe for their kids.

The good news is that with modern technology, dental X-rays are safer than ever.

We believe that patient knowledge is a part of proper, safe dental treatment, and we’ve put together this guide for parents whose children may have X-rays recommended for them.
