Sharing this to continue our support of these two amazing clubs coming together as one community to raise funds and awareness 💛🩷
💛💗 ROUND 4 – CANCER AWARENESS CLASH 💗💛
📍 Ralli Park | 🗓 Saturday 9th May
Two clubs. One community.
This weekend, the Balaklava Football & Netball Club and Hummocks Watchman Eagles come together as fierce rivals — but united for something far bigger than the game.
Our clubs are full of amazing people… but unfortunately, cancer doesn’t discriminate.
While there are a range of cancers that impact so many lives, on Saturday we’re raising awareness for neuroblastoma and breast cancer 💛💗
We send our love and support to Holly Zerk and family, and stand alongside Sonja Gangell, Kirsty Williams and families in their journey.
🔹 Neuroblastoma affects around 40–50 Australian children each year and is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths in young children.
🔹 Breast cancer impacts 1 in 7 Australian women, with over 20,000 diagnoses each year. Early detection saves lives.
👉 On Saturday we will raise awareness in the following ways:
• Yellow balls used across all football and netball games
• Footballers wearing yellow armbands
• Pink & yellow laces/ribbons for netballers
• Donations & raffle supporting Neuroblastoma Australia & National Breast Cancer Foundation
• Pink & yellow cupcakes and cookies available
• Hair braiding & bracelet making 💛💗
A guard of honor will also take place with netballers before the A1 match with Holly Zerk presenting the match ball 💛
🙌 We need your help!
If you’re able to volunteer some time on the day to help man the trading table (baked goods & raffle), please comment below.
This is more than footy and netball. It’s about awareness, support, and standing together for those who have fought, those still fighting, and those we’ve lost.
💬 Start a conversation. Look after yourself and those around you.
Because together, we are stronger than cancer. 💛💗
