We’re looking for a friendly and motivated Dental Assistant / Receptionist to join our team.

This part-time role (4 days per week) is perfect for someone who enjoys a mix of clinical and front-desk duties in a welcoming, patient-focused environment.

- A positive attitude and great communication skills
- Friendly, well-presented and professional
- Experience in dental assisting and/or reception preferred (but we’re happy to train the right person)
- Someone who takes pride in providing excellent patient care
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team

It’s Dental Health Week! 🦷

This year’s campaign focuses on encouraging young Australians aged 18–25 to get back into the habit of regular dental check-ups and maintain good oral health routines.

Here are a few simple ways to keep your smile healthy:

✨ Choose water over sugary drinks where you can.

Our clinical team is made up of three experienced dentists and our dedicated dental therapist. Each bringing their own experience and approach, allowing us to provide personalised care for patients of all ages.

• Jean-Pierre (JP) Devenish

JP has been caring for the Albany community since moving here in 2010. With a passion for creating healthy and confident smiles, JP enjoys all aspects of general dentistry. With a special interest in orthodontics, smile makeovers implant surgery. Outside of dentistry, JP enjoys painting, gardening and spending time with his family exploring Albany’s beaches and boardwalks 🏝️

Originally from New Zealand, Bec was drawn to Albany by its beautiful surroundings and community feel and has loved becoming part of the area. Bec takes a gentle, patient-focused approach to dentistry, taking the time to understand each person’s needs and lifestyle. Outside of the practice, Bec enjoys hiking, archery and watching rugby 🏉

Dion grew up in Auckland and Sydney before moving to Perth to study dentistry at UWA. Dion enjoys all areas of general dentistry and is passionate about providing gentle, high-quality treatment while ensuring patients feel informed and comfortable every step of the way. Outside of work, he enjoys playing pickleball, bouldering and exploring Albany’s cafés and arts scene ☕️

Susan joined the 78 Dental team in 2014 and brings more than 30 years of experience in dentistry. She has a strong passion for preventative care and loves helping patients of all ages maintain healthy smiles. When she’s not caring for patients, you’ll often find Susan spending time with her beloved cows 🐮

Another big celebration here at the practice! 🥳

Last week we celebrated Susan’s 60th birthday and of course we had to make her day extra special!

If you know Susan, you know she absolutely adores her cows… so we couldn’t resist having a little fun with it. 🐄🤍 Cathie went all out and dressed up to surprise her and let’s just say the reaction was priceless!

We’re so lucky to have such a caring and dedicated dental therapist on our team. Thank you for everything you do Susan 🫶🏻

We’re excited to welcome Dion to our team! He has appointmts available 4 days a week here at the practice 🦷

A little about Dion….

Born in Auckland, Dion grew up in Sydney before moving to Melbourne to study at the University of Melbourne. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Psychology, before pursuing dentistry. This background has shaped his patient-centred approach, allowing him to better understand and respond to each patient’s individual needs and concerns.

Dion completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) at the UWA in Perth. With a long-standing interest in working in a regional community, he was drawn to Albany for its strong sense of community and opportunity to build meaningful, long-term relationships with patients.

Dion enjoys all aspects of dentistry, particularly helping patients feel comfortable and confident in the dental chair. He takes pride in providing high-quality, gentle care and values clear communication ensuring patients feel informed and supported throughout their treatment.

Outside of dentistry, Dion enjoys staying active and has a passion for all kinds of sport. Recently, he’s taken up pickleball and bouldering and is looking forward to exploring the natural landscape around Albany and making the most of the outdoor activities the region has to offer. He also appreciates Albany’s vibrant cafe and art scene. ☕️ 🖼️

Dion is excited to be part of the Albany community and looks forward to caring for patients and helping them achieve healthy and confident smiles! ☺️
