Engaging in knowledge transfer activities, whenever possible, is important. Especially when it comes to creating awareness about the importance of applying the latest technology in prosthetics for child amputees who need the equipment to navigate home, school, and sport.

Have a look at this image from 2024 when we had the opportunity to demonstrate the process; from the manufacturing of a custom socket, to attaching components, to the final fitment; at the Sports Day event at SHAPA Sports Training Centre in Soweto, Gauteng, hosted by Jumping Kids and Nike.

It was another valuable opportunity to show that... equipped with the prosthetic tools they need, children who are prosthetic device users can be active and independent!!

It is always inspiring to have another look at the archive and be transported to specific times in the journey.

Have a look at this lovely from the years when our patient, Berno Haarhoff, was still tearing up the track and field as a T/F42 (now classified T/F63) para-athlete for his province and country 💙

Encouraging ‘new’ prosthetic device users to consider sports participation as part of their rehabilitation and reintegration plan has always been an important part of our approach.

We have shared many proud moments with many of our over the years. One of them... Berno Haarhoff 💥

The story of a socket.

We love this journey through time with our patient, Kotie Rolf Potgieter.

From 2017’s stunning custom socket design that Kotie called ‘super cool’ on her page, to a design in celebration of the 2024 Paris Paralympics, to now…. a Grandmother’s ‘cool leg’ that often gets updated with new sticker designs by her grandkids.

Over time, prosthetic equipment requires upgrades, maintenance and, in some cases, replacement. It is a lifelong investment to keep independently mobile. Adding a socket design created to help inspire and motivate is a gesture of encouragement, a gesture of love.

100m world champion, Puseletso Mabote, sets a new 400m (T63) WORLD RECORD of 01:00.74 (still to be ratified) at the 2026 Toyota SASAPD National Championships 💥💥
