Special Care Smiles was closed a few days last week so that Dr. Holena could attend SCDAcon 2026, the annual meeting/conference for Special Care Dentistry Association. She was the President last year and helped plan the conference.

In addition, Dr. Holena gave a keynote presentation (Dogs in Dentistry - featuring Latte and Peet) and a breakout lecture (Technology in Special Needs Dentistry - featuring the laser, scanner, and 3D printers).

Special Care Smiles will be closed on Wednesday, April 15 and Thursday, April 16. We will resume normal business hours on Monday, April 20. We will be monitoring messages during this time.

Latte was affectionately called Dr. Latte by a friend’s son and I think the title is appropriate. She is the office therapist, to all who visit - patients, parents, caregivers, staff.

The personalities of the office dogs couldn’t be more different. Today, we are featuring Peet. We affectionately call him our Walmart Greeter. He loves to make friends in the waiting room.
