Excision of a lesion on the left buccal mucosa✨

In this procedure, a small area of tissue from the inner cheek is carefully removed and separated from the underlying structures by Dr. Ducharme. This allows for precise excision while preserving the surrounding healthy issue.

The specimen is then sent for pathology evaluation to determine a definitive diagnosis.

Biopsies like this, play a critical role in identifying abnormal tissue early and guiding appropriate treatment when necessary.

Dr. Ducharme graduated at the top of her class from the University of Southern California’s prestigious Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry. During her residency at the renowned Jackson Memorial Hospital, affiliated with the University of Miami, Dr. Ducharme was recognized as the Resident of the Year and also received the Outstanding Patient Care Award, nominated by her attending physicians during her pivotal Chief year.
As the lead surgeon at West Palm Beach Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr. Ducharme uses her expertise to offer a comprehensive range of services, from corrective surgeries to dental implants and wisdom teeth removal.

✨ Full-Arch Maxillary Transformation – Guided Surgery Case ✨

This patient came to us hoping for a more confident, functional, and beautiful smile. After reviewing her anatomy and treatment options, she chose not to undergo a sinus lift — so we planned a fully guided full-arch approach to place implants safely and predictably in the available bone.

• Pre-op photo: Our starting point before transitioning to a new smile.
• Strategic extractions (Slides 3 & 4): Performed to help stabilize the surgical guide for precise and accurate implant placement.
• Implant + MUA placement (Slide 5): MUAs were torqued onto the newly placed implants, and remaining maxillary teeth were removed. One existing implant was intentionally buried due to extreme angulation, and a cover screw was placed — preserving it so the restorative doctor can fabricate a custom angled MUA and seamlessly incorporate it into the final prosthesis.
Guided surgery provides accuracy, efficiency, and peace of mind — especially in cases where sinus augmentation is avoided.
