On Friday, I conducted my review course for dental assistants preparing to take the DANB exam to obtain their Maine Dental Radiology license. Throughout the day (and the course prior), Lainey demonstrated a solid and comprehensive understanding of the material. I recommended to Lainey B. that she consider taking the radiology exam sooner than her initial planned date of mid-July, as she was prepared now. She emailed me that night and said she got an earlier date. . .of the very next day. And today she found out she PASSED. Congratulations Lainey. You kicked butt! MK Orthodontics is lucky to have you.

I had a wonderful day at the Maine Dental Association’s Annual Meeting in Bar Harbor. I shared a table with several other exceptional Maine-based companies, including Bite Billing and Stillwater Dental Placement Co, LLC . I reconnected with some fantastic friends and colleagues and met some wonderful individuals as well.

Over the past 7 days, I have traveled throughout many areas of Maine, accumulating a considerable number of miles (I just wish the fuel prices would come down a bit 🙃🫣). During my travels, I have had the pleasure of collaborating with various teams including Lincoln Dental Associates -Lincoln ME, County Roots Children's Dentistry, LLC and the dental providers and teams of St. Croix Regional Family Health Center/Eastport Health Care, Inc. - FQHC, and I look forward to my next visits with each of them.

It was a beautiful day (and drive) to head up to see the ladies at at Strong Area Dental Center. Once again, I have known many of these ladies for many years and it is always nice to see them. Thank you for having me for your annual OSHA/infection contro/HIPAA trainings.

So, I had another *Full Circle* moment that I absolutely loved. When I was 10, after my first phase of orthodontics (with my dad) and before the second phase, I needed a free gingival graft, and guess who did it? Dr. Reidy! Even back then, I remember her being amazing because she made the procedure super painless. It allowed me to have honest conversations with my orthodontic patients years later about the procedure and what they could expect. I was so happy to be back in her office today for their annual OSHA/infection control/HIPAA training. Thanks for having me!

Our team had the opportunity to complete OSHA/HIPAA training with Sarah Ruff Gibson from SRG Training & Consulting and what a great day it was!

Sarah made the training engaging, informative, and actually fun to learn. Our team walked away with valuable knowledge, helpful reminders, and a better understanding of how to continue providing the safest and best care for our patients.

Thank you, Sarah, for such an enjoyable and educational experience! We appreciate all you do for dental teams like ours.

It was a pleasure to see the ladies at at the Bingham Area Dental Center last week. I have known some of these ladies in various capacities for a long time, while others I have met in the past few years. They are a great group, and I always look forward to seeing them. Thank you for having me in for your annual OSHA and infection control training.

A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of sponsoring the Maine Licensed Denturist Association in Bangor at Hollywood Casino Hotel & Raceway Bangor for their Spring meeting. Although I neglected to capture additional photographs, I was fortunate enough to visit with a Denturist (Gary Hughes) and his wife (Lorna) whom I have have the privilege of getting to know. Their daughter, Bridget, is on the cusp of completing her state-level licensure examinations to become a Denturist.

Last week I had the pleasure of (finally) meeting 1 of the 2 powerhouse duos who are opening Summit Dental in Scarborough, ME: Dr. Sonia Shafique (I look forward to meeting Dr. Donahue, some other time) and her assistant! opens its doors on May 18th and you DO NOT WANT TO MISS taking a look if you can. Dr. Shafique and Dr. Donahuge have created an exceptional, tranquil and technologically advanced dental practice. They acquired compliance manuals from me, including HIPAA and OSHA regulations, and I will be conducting a training session with them in July. I can't wait to visit them again.
