Something parents don't know until someone tells them: crooked teeth are often a symptom, not the problem.
We've spent decades in orthodontics focused on alignment - and yes, a straight smile matters. But what we were missing is what's underneath. A narrow jaw doesn't just affect how teeth come in. It affects the airway. The airway affects sleep. Sleep affects focus, behavior, energy, and growth. That cascade is real, and it starts earlier than most people think.
This is why the first questions I ask aren't about teeth. They're about sleep. Is your child waking up tired? Are teachers mentioning attention issues? Is there mouth-breathing happening that everyone's chalked up to "just a habit"? Those aren't random questions. They're clues.
What I'm really after isn't just a straight smile - it's the Fibonacci ratio, the proportions that signal a healthy, fully-developed airway and jaw. Getting there isn't easy. But it is possible, and the earlier we start looking, the more we can shape rather than correct.
You're never just a set of teeth here. You're a whole child with a whole future. That's the Demko difference.
