Braces on day for Yael.

Before braces, Yael started with an expander to create more room for her teeth and begin correcting her overbite. Her biggest worry going in was that it would be uncomfortable.

Braces don't hurt the way people think. Here's what's really going on.

Soreness shows up for a few days after braces first go on and after adjustments, because the teeth are actively moving. It's pressure, not damage. Soft foods, over the counter relief, and a little orthodontic wax handle it, and it fades within a few days. Keep it honest and reassuring, not scary.

Want your braces off sooner? A lot of that is actually up to you.

Most cases run 12 to 24 months, but the patient controls a big part of the timeline. Wearing elastics as instructed, keeping every appointment, and not breaking brackets all shorten it. Skipping elastics is the number one thing that drags treatment out.

Two kids, two treatment plans, one family that knew exactly why starting early matters.

Kenley is in Phase 1 treatment, and Luke is in comprehensive treatment with braces. When Carly learned both kids had crowding, she didn't wait. Having been through braces herself, she knew early treatment makes a real difference.

How many hours a day do you really need to wear Invisalign? 20 to 22, and that number is not a suggestion. Aligners only move teeth while they're in your mouth, and the hours out for coffee and lunch add up faster than you think. Wear time is the whole game. Save this before you start treatment.
