This means that in addition to his basic training as a general dentist, he spent three years after dental school doing a residency in orthodontics. He went to dental school and did his orthodontic residency at A.T. Still University of Health Sciences in Arizona. Because of his advanced specialty training, he is recognized by the American Association of Orthodontics as a specialist in orthodontics.​​
